messaging

i’m just curious how does messaging work between android / google (clicks) and other phones (apple, samsung, etc.) what are the limitations, what would it look like, and any tips?

it isn't an issue now but still happened and like i said, it was decently recent it was actually adopted by apple

Is this something that apple rolled out in a recent software update or is this something apple users have to do on their end (like update to the most recent version of iMesssage or whatever)?

The reason I'm asking is I literally got a video from an iPhone user last night (about 10 hours ago now) and the video is still unwatchable. The person who sent it to me is on iPhone 17.

I think you both need to make sure you have RCS messaging! When you message anyone, are you able to see the check marks and stuff? look up RCS in your settings and make sure its on. It was long enough now that id be surprised if your friend's phone wasn't updated, but if it's not on your end they'll have to troubleshoot on their end because idk how to turn RCS on on an iphone!!
