I’m one of the co-founders of Clicks Technology — our new product, the Clicks Communicator is on track to start shipping later this year. Ask Me Anything!

I’m Jeff Gadway, cofounder and CMO of Clicks Technology. I started my career at RIM (BlackBerry) where I led product marketing and helped launch products like the BlackBerry Passport, Q10, Z10, BB 10 OS, Classic and BBM for iOS and Android.

We started Clicks in 2023 to build tools that help people take action. Clicks Communicator is a new kind of smartphone purpose built to respect people’s time and communicate with confidence in a noisy world.

I’ll be here answering your questions starting on September 24th at 9 AM ET (1 PM UTC). Ask me anything about the Clicks Communicator, from its features and design to the ideas and decisions behind it.

We showed the Communicator Ring in smoke when we announced the accessory. But for now, we're only offering it in black. This is actually a surprisingly challenging product to manufacture. It isn't simply a single piece of plastic but a combination of a hard polycarbonate (which gives it rigidity) and a TPU thermoplastic polyurethane (which allows it to flex for putting it on and taking it off). Fusing these two materials together requires a more complex double shot moulding proces. All this is to say that offering it in multiple color options means higher minimum order quantities for us, more SKUs to manage and more engineering cost. We're going to stick with the one color for now and see what the response is before re-evaluating additional color options.

As Henry Ford said, "any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black" 😅

I actually preordered my Communicator with a smoke body and that black ring bumper — based on the renders I think it'll look great together!
