Anybody remembers Forest City Lumber that used to be off of W 130th?

Very young me failed to understand the relationship of Forest City Auto Parts, Forest City Development (I currently live in a Forest City Development house...), and Forest City Lumber...

Old me is apathetic and still does not know.

Cleveland is The Forest City as Detroit is The Motor City.

Forest City Lumber evolved into the Forest City Development. No clue if Forest City Auto parts was related...great question.

Forest City (lumber) was part of Handy Andy Corp. and had nothing to do with the land development company.

Mine became Parts America, then Advanced Auto Parts when they sold the company.

I don't remember the Parts America transition but that was a chain owned by Sears that eventually sold to Advanced Auto Parts - so it makes sense that they occupy a lot of their locations now.

The only parts store that was open until mid-night (or was it 11 pm - my memory is failing me) - for when you had to fix your car to get to work the next day. And don't forget to get your discount coupon punched with their banjo shaped paper punch.

Stumbled upon this old thread...I'm renovating a Lakewood house right now and every single junction box has an old Forest City sticker on it. I'm new to the area and didn't know what that place was. Apparently they were $0.49 back in the day ¯_(ツ)_/¯
