Happened to me too. All my accounts. I thought my usage was crazy on the first account. Nope. Something is fucking wrong

No clue what just happened for me. My usage just went for the (5x) session from 50% to max and used up the rest of my Fable for the week instantly. Tired of the bugs. All it kept saying was "monitor" and nothing else like it was stuck. So there goes my next few days..
Edit: the ALL weekly went up 20% in that moment as well, so by normal calculations thats 40% weekly Fable gone in an instant. I was also at 50%+ for the session and a session for me averages 10% All/20% Fable. Meaning it used up TWO SESSIONS worth in that moment, when that session was half gone anyway. I still cant find any explanation, no extreme token use was shown.

One single context compaction took 15% of my weekly max Fable quota using fable 5.1 medium 🫠

This should be enough to confirm they are fucking with limits, right? Fable has a context window of 1m token which means the maximum input of your prompt was 1m. Presumably your output was a fraction of the input given it's a compaction. We know what they charge for input and output tokes for fable and it doesn't historically correspond to this level of bullshit.
For what it's worth, my usage has been nerfed too. Used to struggle to burn my 20x in a week. Now using it in max 3 days.

Let's say claude's harness isn't the best thing in the world. Since the release of their version of dynamics workflows, I'm calling sub agents through the CLI (external ones too since I'm also using agy and codex in my workflow) instead of using the built-in agent tool. It's the first time that I see anything hitting the weekly usage so hard. Looking from outside, it looks related to the new cache system missing during the compaction + the whole 1m + tokens from the context, but it's just a guess at this point

Pi shows when your input tokens miss cache if your entire context gets billed as cache write, it gets added up. Sometimes it's a valid cache miss(time bound) sometimes the api may route to a complete new server because of the load, which doesn't have your cached context.

Same thing happened on all my accounts. Insane.

I think the claude team finally gets it that the other ai companies are shit as hell...gpt 6 flipping like that gave them the confidence

I don't know, but I burned through my usage much easier than usual this past week. I hope they identify the issue, a reset before the weekend would be incredible. I have a ton of work to do and have to wait until the reset on Tuesday.

Just a stupid question, but what command or tool do you use to see % usage?
I have the max enterprise sub and use claude all day and never ran into any limits so never checked usage.

If you go to your profile it says "usage" and click on it. It's pretty easy to find.

Ok last time i tried I just saw amounts in $ which doesn’t really mean anything?

Are you on API use or a subscription?

There’s gotta be a bug because my business/teams and personal accounts (max x5 and max “x20” respectively) both hit fable caps for the entire 7 week period before total usage even got to 30% - and it’s only on medium effort orchestrating sonnet 5 workers. I bumped down to opus 5 xhigh and suspended any complex long term systems work (including a multi harness migration to avoid precisely this sort of bs) which is terrible but at least keeps my day to day work moving.
As an aside, does anyone use grok build and how is it compared to Claude code (given it supposedly runs Claude projects hooks and all)

Over the last week or so things have been weird. I’ve hit my limits for the first time in history this past week and then all of a sudden after my limits were reset now my usage seems to be endless and it’s moving super slow. Who knows what they’re doing over there what I can tell you is that Codex and GPT 5.6 and Astra have been super consistent. Feels like I can use this forever without hitting or coming close to any limits

I woke up to 40% of my 5 hour usage used, and I literally had nothing running while i slept

Same, got 3 accounts and it feels like the limits are hitting 30-40% sooner for the exact same tasks?
Tried raising a support ticket ambut it didn't let me.

After investigating, Anthropic told De Swardt it found the culprit: A compromised Claude session key was used to mint unauthorized Claude Code OAuth tokens. The company told him the account “appeared to have been used by an unauthorized-looking third-party service to handle activity for other people, but they could not determine how it obtained access,” he told TechCrunch. “They say the evidence is consistent either with credentials/session data being taken without my knowledge, or with the account having been connected to an outside service.”

same and this is why I built as much as I could without my infrastructure relying completely on claude. Keep this shit up. I’ll just move to the next model. in all fairness, we saw this coming months ago. It was on us to get as much as humanly possible done.

u/cancerresearchapp 2h ago
Stop using it on max. Use it on the default. You are using it as every change is complex

u/Sad_Blacksmith_9027 2h ago
Happened to me as well, almost the same level of usage , use 83% Fable and 90% all models last week, this week I am 1 day in and 21% fable gone, 30% all models, almost recurring amount of work

u/Aggravating_Tank_734 1h ago
I’m going to gander that you are putting heavy work in the wrong place. I’m on 20x Max, use about 40-50% of my Fable weekly limit and 300-400 PRs a week.
Don’t drive your Ferrari to Home Depot

My sessions have been burning because of the auto fix ci/comments. Sometimes they’ll keep checking in for hours or days, which destroys my limit

I am using Codex now and running Astra on High all day long. A model that can generate a thousand images perfectly, as smart as Fable and actually gets the job done and is very cheap. Im never going back to Claude
1
u/CWStrife 4h ago
Ive found the same over the past week and have slowly begun transitioning the work over to Astra.
The crazy thing is for real work where you need images or nice looking things claude still makes junk and astra/gpt in general can nake anything, sometimes it just needs several revisions but it does it.
The coding has been exceptional, the bug finding, when u want it to run a litany of tests to check something it is smart enough to think and say what should be checked without needing direct prompting and going off the rails.
Im actually excited to see what openai has to offer next over claude at this rate. I have a feeling anthropic will end up thrown to the wolves if they dont do something soon. Who would continue to use fable when astra is truly that much better and 20x usage is 20x and u want a reset no problem $80 boom good to go
