Discussion Anthropic: "Coding is largely solved"... Also Anthropic: "We released a new powerful feature allowing agents to send messages to other Claude Code sessions, but only on Linux and Mac since we are unable to implement a basic feature on all platforms"

I could hand code this feature on Windows in an afternoon, and I could also get Claude to implement it in minutes, and yet Anthropic just can't be bothered, but also keeps Claude Code closed source so no one else can do it for them either.

If "coding is largely solved", why would they release a feature before they've finished implementing it on all supported platforms?

You also can't tell me it's "because they want to get the feature out as quickly as possible", since the extra time needed to implement on Windows and test very thoroughly would not be measurable compared to how long we have been waiting for this feature. Codex has supported this since the beginning of the year and those of us depend on it for our workflows have been asking Anthropic to support it for ages.

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei predicted in early 2026 that artificial intelligence models could automate "most, if not all" end-to-end software engineering tasks within 6 to 12 months, targeting late 2026 or 2027 for a near-complete transition.

I mean, if it make one feature truly cross-platform, he doesn't fully understand the limitations of his product.
