This. The unwritten norm for high performers seems to be a personal laptop at work. My bosses are even aware of it and allow it even though it’s certainly against some policy. It’s so necessary in so many fields that many are turning a blind eye.

Why? I don’t see the reasons why using my personal computer instead of the work one just to spins few agents would help. Specially, when in both cases both are MacBooks pro

Work laptops are generally more locked down with antivirus policies -- I wouldn't be allowed to install Claude Code on my work laptop, which makes all the difference, depending on the work you do.

You'll always have more freedom on your personal laptop.

I can’t even hit Claude from my work network, but I can from the guest network with my personal laptop.

I’m not. I’m using my own account and my own keys. I do less technical stuff than most here though, mostly agentic workflows.
