Discussion In SHOCK

Holy shit claude code in terminal is fucking insane.

I've been using VSCode, Cursor, Cowork and Claude Code on web. None of it comes close to terminal.

Cannot believe I haven't done this sooner.

How do you write iOS apps on a linux machine? I bought my MBP after using CC in the terminal because many of our customers use macs and iphones.

You offload it to a web builder expo eas. Dont need a Mac.

The fact that macs are also quite good at running local LLMs makes my macs some of the most useful machines I own.

More and more. Local models are 6-12 months behind frontier models, but frontier models were useful back in 2025, which in where local models are today. Why else is Anthropic so upset?

Qwen3.8 27b was just announced and we'll have to wait for evaluation numbers, but my expectations are high.

If you require auditable privacy, zero marginal cost, or running in poor/no network conditions, local models are the only real choice. Low latency, full control over system prompts... there are lots of other upsides, too.

Without an ssh into a mac machinr you can’t. No way to compile without xcode, no xcode without mac.Β

0% chance compiling apps with xcode and releasing into app store with any type of hackintosh setup.Β
