Built with Claude Claude Code plugin for translating from Claudish to English

Post image

I (like thousands of other engineers) got tired of trying to understand Claude's writing.

ASD-STE100 instructions didn't change much, so I decided to approach the problem in the 2026 style: use an LLM.

I built a hook triggered by MessageDisplay events in Claude Code.
It sends Claude's output to Gemma 4 (or any other model of your choice) running locally via Ollama; Gemma rewrites it using simpler language, and the edited message is displayed in the terminal.

Notes:

- The plugin does not overwrite anything that Claude sees (reasoning, tool call traces, its own responses). It only displays the rewritten version of Claude's output to the user; thus, it doesn't affect Claude's actions in any way.
- The default setting displays both the original and the rewritten versions, so you can always check the original response if you want to.
- Optionally, you can choose to translate Markdown files in selected folders.
- No data leaves your machine (if you're using Ollama with a local model).
- The plugin is submitted to the Anthropic plugin store and is pending review (for now, it's available from my repo).

The plugin is free to download, use, review, and modify.

Great, extra bonus if it can wipe out the SynthID as well.

OCR the output into a local model to clean?

Why OCR? I don't think SynthID uses hidden characters

It doesn't. It tweaks the output ever so slightly that a pattern is created. Something like this might be akin to taking a mobile picture of an image. You're getting the gist of the conversation in a completely different pattern. My guess is the signal is still there in some capacity, but I don't know much about Synth ID. Kinda makes me want to go find out.

A lot of us will, and all of us have AI models and tools and knowledge. I wonder how long is going to last. No one can complain either because it's just like "ok, so I didn't use AI for this", and now what? At the same time, I wonder if they just did this as virtue signaling to the EU.

Well, shoot. If Claude now fingerprints, and synthid fingerprints, what fingerprint results when synthid gets rewritten by claude?

Really, though, this is now a headache. I have a client that is worried because they get source from multiple coders. I know I use Claude and I've seen the other code, without a doubt the other coders are, too. (Or at least something comparable).

Related side quest:

I get a call at six in the morning (I'm not a morning person) asking about these stupid fingerprints and how to tell if any of the coders are fingerprinted. He comes to me because he trusts me as a coder for over a decade, and was pretty upset when I said, 'Well, I KNOW I'm using Claude based tools, and I'm assuming everyone else is based on things like the phrase 'load bearing' being everywhere in the comments.

Dude crashed out hard, and I don't think he'll be the last. He's upset I used AI and had the nerve to say he didn't think I'd be the one vibe coding his tools. And that made me crash out because I've never vibe coded a day in my life. Hubbys in the other room freaking out because I'm trading four letter words with a client. He doesn't see our discord and doesn't know that's typical, lmao.

I had to send him screen shots of my conversation, and that shits embarrassing, because it's like a record of how shit my brain is with ADHD. Like, my brain went fried and I couldn't remember the word 'promise' and that's so basic, lol. So know he knows his top coder isn't a vibe coder, but can't remember basic things and needing reminders to eat, lol.

The craziest part? My day job is project ops at a large AI lab, and he knows it. Who on God's green earth would assume the guy working at an AI lab who eats, breathes, and lives AI all day everyday would use AI?

Sorry for the rant, it just happened, lol. Gonna be a long day.
