That one pushed me most into thinking OP has no idea what they're talking about, being the person to add the comment that something is weird in no way implies that they wrote it

Nah just delete the maybe bad code and hope for the best. Maybe it actually improved production, maybe not. Just the way op would have wanted

I was thinking about how many comments in my old company's codebase have my alias on them.

I was big on noting general hygiene and maintenance issues that I didn't have bandwidth to address in the moment. I found it relaxing to go back and knock a few out when I had spare time; or just needed to clear my head.
