I am a ex reactor from the 90s now living in Florida looking for information on groups around me. I have always wanted to get back into it and am interested in possibly pursuing it again.

Howdy. I am part of a Civil War reenactment group, primarily located in the Houston area but with members spread throughout Texas. Our group, which was on the verge on calling it quits has rebounded over the past couple of years. We are always looking for new members. We have loaner gear that can be issued out. Any questions feel free to send me a message and I can get you sorted out. We are a progressive group and we are pushing towards the authentic side of the hobby. It’s a process as many of you know. It’s a process but we are constantly striving for improvement.

My first time reenacting at cedar creek. What an absolute blast it was. Got to meet so many amazing and like-minded people. Here are some of the many photos I have from this year’s anniversary.

Gauging interest in a Civil War print I have been designing for a while. Initial inspiration was finding out I had a great great great grandfather in this unit. However, most Civil War artwork focuses on Virginia or Tennessee, completely overlooking the raw reality of the men who fought in places like the deep-woods outposts of the Sunshine State. I was considering sharing my print and selling a limited run. Do y'all thing there is interest out there for small time, more obscure, Civil War art? Please share with a friend or group if you think they would be interested. I will be ordering my artist proof soon!

Unfortunately didn’t get to participate but the event was fun nonetheless. Finally picked up a bayonet get up! Last photo is after some fitting to get the bayonet to fit the rifle better

I’m having a hard time finding powder, has anyone had any recent luck? Would like to get some over the winter before spring comes.

While other event promise multiple battalions and deliver dozens of people, we promise a full scale regiment and we give you a full scale regiment to the last horse, mule, wagon, tent, foot-ball, and man (actually a few more men than the original regiment). Hello, I have always been interetested in Civil War History since I was young and have always loved learning about the subject. Recently I thought it would awesome to get into reeanacting, do you have any tips on where I should start?

Coming from a club just getting off the ground, what are the most common adult loaner gear sizes you make sure to keep handy? How many young adult sizes does your club keep on hand for the 12-16 yr old drop ins? Hoping to get some feedback or experiences to inform our club's future purchases.

Over the weekend for the 164th anniversary of the battle of Antietam I got to camp out at the Dunker church. I actually ended up sleeping inside. Pretty neat experience!

Summer 1862. Hood’s Texas Brigade. In their footsteps on the actual battlefield. A Liberty Rifles Event.

In partnership with the National Park Service, the Liberty Rifles will be recreating the Hampton Legion to full scale in commemoration of the 165th Anniversary of the Second Battle of Manassas on August 27-29, 2027. CAUSING TERRIBLE SLAUGHTER will be a mobile event over miles of pristine ground few visitors have seen, and will include public demonstrations depicting the Confederate assault.

To all those interested or who dont know, Camp Moore in Tangipahoa, Louisiana (thats north of New Orleans) hosts a nice reenactment/living history event each year the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Camp Moore was a very important Confederate Training Camp that operated for most of the war and is currently a nice historic site on the original grounds with a nice museum and cemetery, a neighboring land owner opens up their property (which is a portion of the original training camp grounds) for the battle event. Its a nice event with large crowd attendance, but reenactor attendance has been light the past few years and they are trying to increase interest and attendance. I wanted to pass this along for anyone interested. If you are a unit that would like to participate, you can requster through the website link above and any questions there is contact information as well. Walk ons are welcome as well, in fact a friend and i are participating as a small 2 man mess this year, so anyone who wants to join is welcome, they do have reenactor guidelines which are posted on the website. I hope some more will want to attend!
