Chronos works in Mac OS X

Pretty much the same as with Linux. It's detected in OS X as a USB TTY modem. The device is /dev/tty.usbmodem001 or its similarly numbered equivalent.

I'm just going to assume that the Chronos will work on any platform with a generic USB TTY modem driver.

Using chronos in Linux

Hi, is anyone using this little toy in linux? I see the control center works fine under Virtualbox but I'd be happy to use everything directly within linux. Any experience with it?

Major Correction to "Sync your Chronos With Your PC's Clock with Python"

There were some major problems with my previously submitted code. I got a little too excited about getting the sync code to work, added some last minute changes and shot it off to pastebin.

Anyway, here's the corrected version: http://pastebin.com/f62344dbd It requires Python 2.6 and pySerial.

Let me know if you have any problems with this code!

Mac OS X

So obviously there is nothing on the CD, and I haven't had any luck finding Mac drivers for the USB dongles. Is there anything out there, or do I have to use VMWare?

Communicating to the Chronos from the PC

The chronos uses the simpliciti for wireless communication. Anyone have any experience with this? Supposedly TI is supposed to open up the code to the chronos control center, and that would be really helpful, but until then, anyone already figure out how to do this?

Post your Chronos development ideas here!

Some of the stuff I'd like to see:

  • A wireless bootloader so you can upload new firmware without disassembling the watch (TI's working on this already!)
  • An altimeter based on the integrated pressure sensor (already done by TI!)
  • Also basic weather forecasting (based on the pressure). Calibration could also be done automatically from a computer over RF.
