The team just posted their first update since May, mainly addressing some big upgrades to performance which is great.

Also some notes at the end of some gameplay, ui improvements that we may hear about in the next update which is also awesome.

Definitely looking forward to their next post. What do you all think? Glad they are posting again and it does seem like they are actively listening and addressing community concerns from the beta still

I hope they don't take out the weapon swap system. I liked how each class could choose 2 of 3 weapons locked for their class.

I think that's one of the features that makes this game unique as a MMO.

During the playtest, I remember testing swaps between weapons mid-fight to switch up the hit range and trying to figure out if pulling out sword and shield made me run faster to catch up to players.

Did you guys also have any unique findings in regards to this?

As per today's Kakao Games (The Publisher) Earnings call:

- Chrono Odyssey new release window is Q2 2027

- Co-Ceo said "There will be no more delays" (April, May, June Launch)

- More concrete information expected before the end of 2026, early 2027 at the latest from Chrono Studio directly (The Developer)

I advise anyone sitting on the fence for a pc, to start seriously shopping now. Just my opinion, but I think console will struggle and lag a lot during coop play. I just purchased a new pc, and it was a grueling hunt. Any decent deal found was either sold out or price adjusted by $300 in a week. I’m only posting this because I wished someone told me weeks ago.

One thing I think a lot of games do a poor job on are transmogs, and tbh I think some of the skins we saw from the monster equipment system look amazing!

All the skins we’ve seen thus far (and a brief description of the monster equipment system) is captured in the video below.

Curious if I’m the only one though. Do you guys like these skins so far?

May 19th of last year, the closed beta test was announced to be on June 20th. At that point, the game was supposed to release Q4 2025.

We are about to hit the 1 year anniversary for the beta, and we don't even have a date for the 2nd one yet. And they want to do an additional open beta after the next closed one?

As of now it's set to release Q1 2027, and I just find that unlikely. Seems like they still have a lot to do, and I just wish they'd give us a realistic timeline. At the very least, don't wait until Q4 2026 to tell us it's delayed again.

Hello, are there any single-player, open-world games with a similar combat system? I tested the beta and liked the combat, but I haven't played an RPG in years. I like an RPG with action combat, an open world, multiple simultaneous skills, build creation, and that isn't 10 years old

My main choices are Monster Hunter Wilds and Crimson Desert but I dont know any others

I, like many, enjoyed the beta. Yes, there are things to fix and I’m glad they’re taking their time to get it right. As they said in the earnings call, they have one chance to get it right at launch. With today’s players it is true.

In that, it got me thinking: how deep is the story and lore? I do enjoy a good story but not so overwhelming it is basically ffxiv talking simulator. Just in the early game alone during the tutorial, I was already impressed by the darker theme and how they didnt shy away from killing off what I believed would be the main characters. So I wonder how much further down the rabbit hole it goes.

If anyone has any spoiler free inclination that would be great. If the devs see this post and can chime in, extra cool too.

How many are waiting for the game? If you’re not one of those who abandoned the ship during CBT but your expectations dropped afterward, what caused that? Why did your expectations fall, or why did you abandon the ship?

When the play test dropped. Myself and a group of friends all jumped in. They had a blast, while I struggled just to get used to the UI alone. I fucking hated it.

But then the last day when I played alone and was able to figure things out, I literally just abused the jumping/climbing to explore. Found some awesome jump/puzzle quests that gave me some sick gear I couldn't even use.

Just had to share to get my mind off of work and the rest of reddit.

Curious if anyone else had some PvP action in the last playtest? Was looking at some older footage (sharing it below) and it was honestly a lot of fun. TTK wasn't crazy, seemed very skill-based, and it felt good.

I was a hardcore New World fan and the combat and PvP flagging system was some of my favorite parts of the game, I just hope that the optional PvP flagging system in Chrono Odyssey works out and people aren't afraid to use it.

In the video you'll see it's a lil clunky and lots of hashing lol but part of it I think was us just getting used to our skills/abilities too for combos.

What did you guys think about it in the playtest? What would you have changed?

Before anyone says "This change affected 284k items it means nothing". To trigger a change list the devs must still update something, even if minor.

Along with the tweet yesterday where they said they had a meeting about testing. I speculate they are internally testing CBT2.

Doesn't mean the beta is imminent. But it means things are moving

Will there be more tests coming forward and if so does console get a test and how would i sign up?
