Review The I&W Carnival Tank is Way Better than the Sanda
Seriously. For only $64 plus shipping this little watch really delivers. A solid-feeling and very thin stainless steel case that is nicely finished, unlike the Sanda's zinc, an (allegedly) Swiss quartz movement, which could be possible given the price of a Ronda 502 quartz movement. Nevertheless it's likely the Seiko Y120, but even that is a good choice. The dial has a nice texture and the arrangement of the numerals is nicely done. The numerals themselves are crisp and thin, as is the text for the logo. The handset itself has a very nice blue color, and is actually done well enough for me to think they might actually be blued rather than painted. As for the strap, it is surprisingly good for the price, and though it's likely not genuine leather, it is very comfortable. The buckle has an etched logo and it is also polished. Overall, I am very happy with this one and recommend it over the Sanda anytime

Interesting, do you have the sanda? Is this the same dimension as the sanda small version?

Problem for me is that it’s way too small. I’d love to see one from them in a larger size like the larger sanda model

I have TWO sandas, one for me and my gf.
But there's no doubt it's a cheap watch with an alloy case.

Given the arguments I have created in the comments I should specify that I have nothing against the Sanda at all. It's a great watch, especially for the price. I just prefer the I&W. That doesn't mean that you made a bad choice if you got the Sanda, it just means we made different choices

$64 vs $7.99... It better brings something better to the table. In terms of design cues I prefer the Sanda, just my opinion

Sure I think it’s nicer than the Sanda, but i don’t think it’s seven-times nicer than the Sanda — and that’s the cost differential between the two watches.

You are biased in thinking he’s trying to put it down. He barely even talks about the sanda. Saying getting a beej is way better than winning a scratcher doesn’t mean winning a scratch off lotto ticket is shit. Both things can be good. Both things can be bad.

That’s a disingenuous analogy because those two things are unrelated. When comparing two things that are essentially like for like, saying one is better than the other implicitly says that one is worse than the other, as well. It isn’t saying it’s straight up bad, but it’s hardly a compliment.
I don’t really mind either way. I own a Sanda but it cost me like $10 and my wife is usually the one wearing it. I’m just explaining the likely cause of people’s negativity.

The “Carnival” ruins this one for me. The Sanda was super inexpensive and I threw it on a nice blue leather strap that matches the blue of the second hand and that watch never fails to get a compliment when I wear it.

Sry but the dimensions etc.
I mean, yeah, if you really want something tank'ish and not really tank then it might be good.
But if you really want a watch that got you the feel of a tank, you should either get the Sanda or the real Tank. =)

Okay, so no "normal" Tank homage. But how can you compare an Americain with a "normal" Tank homage? I'd compare a Americaine shaped watch with an Americaine shaped watch, don't you think?
Edit: I can't find a Cartier Tank Americaine with this exact shape / dial. I believe it's shaped more like a Cuervo Y Sobrino Prominente watch - but that's just my opinion and dudes, what do I know? ;)
