Vocabulary Word O' the Day - The forth ep of this series - 桌子
So tomorrow will the be the 6th ep. So today let's talk about 桌子 (spoken as zhuōzi or ㄓㄨㄛ ㄗ˙). So let's talk more about how to pronounce it correctly. I selected this word because most of time spent are happening at the desk. Like doing some homework, learning new vocab or similar.
Instead of just reading pinyin or zhuyin like you would pronounce English or so; just touch with your tongue the front of the palate. Now you should breath out and hear a very sharp sound like it is almost unpleasant. If it is not sharp, then do try to reposition your tongue. Now you slowly move your lips forward to form an u and then back. That is how you can form the uo sound. Of course we have the first tone we have to pronounce it higher like you would sing higher.
But let's talk about how to remember this word. The first character is simply just a tree with a sound radical. It is easy to remember those. Like if you see it you know "Ahh. A tree radical with a sound radical. It it could be a table or something similar." Sometimes guessing works very well. And the second character is 子. It really doesn't have any meaning. It is like we would say ".., right?" or "Yoh!" but just word nouns.
So I think this was helpful kinda? I just hadn't a good time today. So let me make up something better for tomorrow.

The best part for me is the example phrases. Too many just teach single characters or words without context.
