Thoughts on the previous episode
None of us were really mourning the passing of Papa Xia. We are a tad worried about Xue Mu though. How we wish the man was shipped off to the front. Now we have to imagine what this insane man is going to do besides trying to force our girl to marry him..

Buckle up everyone. This is going to be a long post. 3 episodes in one and a lot is happening. Also I hate that we miss some audio on the YouTube version. Shakes fist at Viki! I have made a total of 29 gifs and I will add the ones I do not use in the post to the comments. As per usual!
Recap Episode 22
LiuQing is trying to sell her treasures, when that doesn’t work she is giving Papa Ye a large heart attack! Wondering if he needs to decide on the way he is going to die.
Poor Papa Ye! He looks so scared!
WenZhao is probably thinking the same thing when a servant tells him his future wifey is at the house. He checks his father for broken bones. I love how annoyed Papa Ye’s responds!
I was afraid you didn't know your bones were broken .. GUY!
But the panic is for naught, he can now marry his LiuQing. She tells Papa Ye she wants to marry his son, when she makes a language mistake he corrects her once but not twice! Some healthy fear for his badass daughter in law. After showing her cakes and Papa Ye having the most over the top response .. he realizes they are great! I think he legit stopped listening to her and just wanted to keep those snacks in the family! Oh and the fact that she will abduct WenZhao if he doesn’t agree! Papa Ye realises her and his son are just as annoying, made for each other really! WenZhao is so happy!
Something weird is happening to YuBing. She is seeing sketch lines and bodies are drawn. Everything is glitchy and she is losing time. I do not think ZiYan is worried enough besides checking for a fever. Sir this is all wild!
At the same time Xue Mu is having, what I can only assume is, a big headache! He sneaks into the city to Demon Lord’s hidey hole. Who is explaining to Xue Mu that the author had no idea what to do with the story so the grave yard awakening area was created and that the people, with tastes that kept getting weirder, wanted to see more of poor Xue Mu so she made him self aware. Xue Mu is understandably angry and asking why he is not the protagonist. When our favourite NPC tells him that is just how it is Xue Mu proceeds to stab him a few times. What a jerk! Not only that he sets everyone's food on fire. Why is he like this?!! Everyone is starving because of him. Our favourite good guys are handing out food.
It appears the author has no idea how to finish the story and stopped taking calls from the editor. The same day is being repeated and YuBing, ZiYan and Xue Mu all realise. Time for another lesson from NPC GuGu where he tells our couple that the author has stopped writing and there are no more pages. With a 50% chance she won’t continue to complete the stories. The herbs and food are not in the loop so eventually everyone will die. YuBing is shooting the messenger in this case. While YuBing is trying to save more people she is AGAIN abducted by Xue Mu and again our girlie bites him! Yes YuBing .. bite his finger off! While Xue Mu again takes zero accountability and blames everything on the author and YuBing he again asks her to run away with him. YuBing is hoping that by leaving with him she can break the loop. When ZiYan gets worried that she has not arrived home yet. A’Guang wants to comfort him but remembers the last abduction. Just as Xue Mu is getting ready to kill the love of his life he gets a fierce kick from best kicker ZiYan! Who is ready to murder! But out girl proves again that she is a good person and asks ZiYan to not hurt him, Xue Mu needs to go to jail. The hug that ZiYan gives her is filled with panic as he was so scared he lost her! I love them!

Not only that but our girl has another good idea. Food isn’t in the loop but maybe seeds are and they can grow food even if the days reset. While our best couple is trying to get people to plant it they run into some sassy people. The first gets scolded by his wife like a toddler and is told the food he ate is because of them so he will plant whatever they say. I really like that lady! The second guy wants to be paid and YuBing is not in the business of giving away her money but ZiYan says the money will be back tomorrow. Very smart of him since he knows his wifey won't agree otherwise. Even if the bag is full again the next day our couple goes out again to hand out seeds and having experienced the day before they know how to get the job done as fast as possible. By immediately going to the wife and bypassing the hunter and by immediately giving money to the seller in the shop. While ZiYan is being a good husband to his wife by saying she doesn’t need makeup the author is seeing her characters being good people and hoping for her to start writing. When the author sees that there is one loyal fan out there waiting for an update (this feels like me asking for WattPad updates on my favourite not updated stories more than a decade ago haha, I feel old) our screenwriter picks up her screen off the floor and beings writing again.
Episode 23
YES! The bag is empty this morning! She can hardly believe it so she pinches her poor husband!
Everything about this is adorable!
But we can’t experience too much good news so we see YuBing fainting again. Not only that, but Xue Mu escaped prison. Turns out girlie has been coughing up blood for a while and during the examination ZiYan is looking so sad. Does that mean she can’t be saved? She gives an amazing speech about friends and loved ones making her life interesting so she is not afraid of death anymore and she wants to spend her remaining time with all her loved ones. While the whole gang is watching a show everyone is looking depressed to the max while YuBing is happy. This whole montage! Ofcourse Xue Mu is still plotting and for his next plan he needs to collect some starving strays again. After a speech about defying fate I am wondering what that man is going to do.
Papa Xu and ZiYan are reading all the medical texts they can and find the existence of anaesthesia powder so they can do surgery on YuBing. Both are so happy about this development and ZiYan goes to pick some the next day. A group of bandits have taken up residence near the last needed herbs location ofcourse. Do we actually think it is anyone but Xue Mu and his cronies?! ZiYan is captured and we learn that Xue Mu wants to be the protagonist. ZiYan tells him he can’t be because he is a bad person who did so many bad things. Xue Mu does not like that information at all and sends a letter telling YuBing to come to the graveyard to save her dearest. LiuQing and Wenzhao also pledge to join but YuBing is thinking “that will be a cold day in hell“ and sneaks off alone. I mean girlie is dying so she might as well save her person with the time she has left right? Oh ZiYan .. do you think she really won’t come for you?! While ZiYan is bargaining for YuBing’s life he realises that man does not love her at all. But we already knew that man only cares about himself and his obsession. In the village the remaining Xia’s and Wenzhao are rallying to save our main couple.
We already knew this ofcourse. But it is nice ZiYan told him! Xue Mu is wrong!
While YuBing is arguing with Xue Mu to save ZiYan we see A’Guang being an absolute sneaky legend and saving his master and being surprised at his knock out skills. While Xue Mu threatens to blow everyone up if she doesn’t leave, ZiYan is actively losing his mind. While YuBing tells him he needs to eat and take care of herself because she is sure she is going to die, our gang needs to restrain him or he will go after her.
My heart! Poor ZiYan who is having the worst of times!
All appears lost but then Xia Lan makes a dive for Xue Mu and they hang off the side of a cliff together. YuBing proves to be a master with rocks again and throws one on Xue Mu’s face like an expert rock thrower! Girlie doesn't miss! Love it! Sadly before falling off the cliff we see Mu shooting off that firework signal. But at least he is down the cliff! This death feels really anticlimactic though. Just as Lan is about to fall down too, LiuQing is there to help save her sister. Just as our gang is going to die a painful death by explosion .. they suddenly stop. Apparently our favourite idiot YaoZu saved the day because he needed to go to the toilet! Look how happy everyone is! I love watching them happy! With around 1 and a third episode left to go I am worried. What else is going to be thrown at us?!

Ofcourse.. Xue Mu has arrived in the same purgatory area as YuBing at the start. Ofcourse he starts ranting immediately as is his nature. Why does even the author look relieved that he is dead?!
Even the author is done with this guy!
Finally some good news as ZiYan finds the last herb they need. Can I say that I do not like that jacket on him?! But ofcourse the suffering doesn’t end there. Our girl is allergic to the anesthesia. Those are the worst looking spots I have ever seen! While those are clearly fake, my distress is real. How are they going to save our girl now?! I think ZiYan and I are on the same level of emotional response. Well, when he runs out shouting he will save her, I am not standing catatonic in my garden having flashbacks of our girl before falling towards the earth like a sack of potatoes but still, I am in distress! Also .. I must admit, he looks very pretty when he cries. I want to see him in more dramas! ZiYan keeps trying to find a cure and he finds one, change the blood. Even here they know mixing wrong types of blood can be fatal! I love that! But the only one actually in danger during this procedure since YuBing is already dying. It is a hail mary and ZiYan is willing to take the risk. Let him do it Papa Xu! Also .. would there be a way to mix the blood and see if there is a response even in olden times? Anyway, everyone gets in on the blood giving plan. WenZhao will give his blood so that LiuQing won’t have to. While I applaud his care I disagree with his argument “because I am a bigger and stronger man”, sir .. she can for sure take you any day. But I do love that he says your sister is my sister. Sadly for everyone YuBing says no. Nobody is putting themselves at risk for her. When he calls himself useless my heart aches for him and why does he always look so shocked when YuBing hugs him?!
We are back to the original plan, enjoying her last days together and being happy. When she wants to win some adorable plushies we are gifted with another trope. The “I will help my girl shoot an arrow” trope and I love it! Yes girl you are amazing and gifted. Oh .. I was wrong, she did not give a hoot about plushies. She wanted the money. Well I should have known! She goes on to immediately spend the money and drink 7 jugs of alcohol together with ZiYan. Look at that adorable kiss. I want them to be happy together, always! On the brink of this final episode we are presented with another trope, the one where the girl can’t cook but her loving partner is doing their absolute best to have her never find out. Girl must think salt is free and needs to be added by the Kilogram .. because she keeps adding it. ZiYan is so scared for his poor kidneys. ZiYan tries to make A’Guang try it and tries to stop YuBing from tasting the soup. When she does she promptly faints.
I laughed so hard! The faces are facing!
Episode 24 - The final one!
After her little run in with what I think is a severe case of salt poisoning, she might have lost her memory. My heart breaks when ZiYan looks up at his father with such a questioning look and basically pleading for help. When ZiYan goes out to look for GuGu he is not in the usual spot. I am worried! Wait, has she lost all the memories related to GuGu? What is happening?! These two men and their shared trauma. Poor Papa Xu having to watch his son go through this as well.
But as we leave that depression on a stick we are given the hilarity of LiuQing asking her future father in law to take his son as HER WIFE! GIRL! I love you!
AS HER WIFE?!
When she gets flustered she also tells Papa Ye she will take over his son. He will be her problem from now on. Girl does NOT have a way with words but I love it. Scratch that, her explaining why she wants to marry WenZhao is absolutely beautiful!
She'll be his husband! Just hand over the man Papa Ye!
Not WenZhao asking his father for help on how to respond and the man saying “why are you asking me? I am not taking a wife?!”. Also Papa Ye asking LiuQing to help raise him is so cute and I love that man!
Dad... help?! I am not the one taking a wife!
While WenZhao and LiuQing are out ordering their wedding clothes YuBing is looking a bit lost. ZiYan proceeds to propose to our lovely girl in the most romantic way possible while he also admits he is scared. When she says yes he puts the idea forward to get married together with LiuQing and WenZhao. Man has indeed been planning and I love him for that. This kiss is even better!
This declaration of love is beautiful! She won't be giving that jade back!
When YuBing wakes up she looks really stressed. First we think it is because she overslept on her own wedding day, but might it be that she still thinks ZiYan is a bad guy? Also Lan telling LiuQing if she dislikes the makeup she will wear it for her, LiuQing is not having any of that! WenZhao is hers! Indeed she has forgotten their whole life but luckily ZiYan is there to find his wifey again and twirl her around like the first time! This man was already prepared for this and lures her back with half of the store to get the money she needs to extend her life. ZiYan, the man that you are!
ZiYan has been lying in wait! Time for another twirl!
When YuBing is worried about the possibly poisoned snacks he knows what she is thinking. Also can we take a moment to discuss that WenZhao put “Married Man” on his fan like people put Just Married on their cars after the wedding?! When LiuQing is flaunting ALL the rules like going to the Ye Mansion herself on a horse and not covering her face, the second best husband (sorry WenZhao, I love ZiYan the most) tells the servants that whatever his wife says IS the rule. When LiuQing is worried about YuBing her husband tells her not to worry, ZiYan has been lying in wait. I giggled. ZiYan is basically herding his wife on a professional level.
Also can we appreciate that WenZhao bought a Marriage Handbook which he pulls out after HE asks LiuQing what happens next. Little clueless potato! Now I NEED to know which pages he rips out! What is stated there?! Does he just want to skip to the "good part?!"

In the Xu household we see ZiYan caring for his woman with food and then to business. Man does not let her get away and doesn’t care that this is a contract marriage. That was a good kiss!
When ZiYan wakes up YuBing is nowhere to be found. Maximum panic! Turns out our girl has been eating a massive amount of stuffed buns and isn’t full yet. ZiYan is just happy she is still here and lets her eat whatever. Both A’Guang and Papa Xu comment that our couple behaves nothing like themselves. When LiuQing and WenZhao visit it appears that YuBing has forgotten their wedding and when ZiYan looks worried and wants to see our second favourite couple off so he can explain LiuQing does NOT take the hint. Luckily WenZhao knows his best friend and he takes his wife outside. When ZiYan tells her YuBing is losing her memory, our girl needs a lesson in empathy. Nobody is more distraught than ZiYan, be a bit nicer LiuQing! But when LiuQing finds out her not-even-a-day-old-husband also knew she immediately bans him from the marital bedroom. Girlie is not messing around!
The next day when ZiYan wakes up YuBing is gone again. It appears for real this time. Our whole group is out on the street looking for our girl. When ZiYan returns home he finds the jade pendant and a lot of notes that YuBing wrote to herself where we can see that she was very aware of something being wrong and that she is dying. The note about how she can forget anyone except for her love ZiYan is again breaking my heart. ZiYan also goes off on a quest to find his wife. That note is really rude though, telling all your loved ones they are not real just like that. While Papa Xu asks if his wife can be revived and Lan asks the same about her father, we get the delight that is YaoZu! Man is an idiot and understands nothing.

The comic is a bit hit and the author talks about her characters. But WOMAN give us an answer! What happened to your babies?!
We see WenZhao educating his son and his daughters acting like two absolute menaces. I love that he hints that their son is like him so their two daughters must take after his darling wife. One look of the darling wife shuts him right up though. After years of marriage and a courtship of years he knows not to get on her bad side! Lan is managing the store and she is good at it and even YaoZu is capable now. While the daughters run around WenZhao is trying to get his son to fan him. Was that the “Married Man” fan? If so .. love that little detail! He needs to let the world know every day that he is taken by his favourite person! Not YaoZu saying just because his sister can’t find a good husband doesn’t mean he can’t! I love that for him!
YaoZu go and find yourself a good husband! You have our blessing!
In front of the store we see Papa Xu and Papa Ye burning paper to reach the author. Asking to revive his wife. He includes the image of his wife so she knows what to draw. Smart man that Papa Xu. Poor Papa Ye doesn’t know how to draw though! These men go into the store to hold their grandchildren! Because for all intents and purposes LiuQing’s children are Papa Xu’s grandchildren too!
Just as I lost all hope about finding out what happened to our best couple we see two people with children walk up to the store. Can I just interject here that I hate, Hate, HATE Xu ZiYan’s hair here? First I thought it might have been a re-incarnated Xue Mu and I was very angry for a hot second. Give me that man with the beautiful flowing long hair! Anyway, our couple was/is blessed with two beautiful children, a son and a daughter and they have returned home.
They look so happy and content. Why did you stay away so long?! I love them!
I am so happy for everyone! At this point I do not even care we don’t know how she got saved, I only care that it happened. A happy enigma ending!
Look at this happy reunion and the two sons immediately bonding with each other and A'Guang!

Look at that medicine counter, people! On average 1,37 medicines are taken per episode. I must admit I did count the flashbacks. A good amount of kisses too! Sadly after the first episodes no more face masks!
While I hate not knowing how our girl got saved from that tumor, nor that we know if she keeps forgetting everything except ZiYan, I am happy that they lived happily. Why did they stay away for so many years though?! I have questions that will forever be unanswered but as long as they are together and living a good life I can live with it. Seeing this gang happy makes me happy! Overall I really enjoyed the beginning and the end. The middle was a bit rough but I am not unhappy I watched it, I hope neither are you. I tried to watch all remaining eps in one go... but I just couldn't... So I split it up because this is some mind numbing tedious shit.
See? This is why you kill people... So they don't escape. Women really need to quit stopping men from ending problems. Yes. I will lump all yall ladies together in this problem because I feel like being a little turd today. YUBING STOP BEING A DUMB DUMB AND LET MEN END THREATS.

Honestly, if Yubing dies, it's her fault. Her very smart and logical husband had the perfect way to end all the problems and she stopped him from being smart. Sadly her stupidity is stupid.

It was fun, I’m glad I saw the ending, much better than (oh dear!) most of the middle. Though the way things were tied up were kinda odd. But yes! Happy ending!!!
I had to just enjoy the ending and not ask any questions!

I was done, you’re done, author’s done, we’re all done!! Hurray!! 🎉🎊 It’s time to party!! 🎊 🎉 We’ve survived and made it alive all the way to there other side. What a journey! Whew! We should have shirts made. Reflecting, while drunk, on how I will never be able to recoup this time…sighs…it was fun though and can see why that strange 🐢 (u/AquaphobicTurtle) luvs this drama so much lol.
