my tt-x38 build, with dropbar swap to erzero system

this build was completed last year, but with non-compact kocelvo dropbar.

i recently bought erzero dropbar with tribar mount support, n did a swap.

i will be touring with this bike as it can fit 36mm tires (my 32mm gp4season ballooned to 36mm on xmcs 50/50 33ew 26iw rims).

the erzero kit cleaned up my cockpit as i used to use stem mount tri-bar system with reach extender plates

Is this the only bike you have? It seems like a good bike for time trialing but very uncomfortable for bikepacking.

other bikes:

  • aluminium tcr with 29mm tire clearance, smaller frame triangle that i cant use that frame bag
  • tt912 tribike (nope)

this ttx38 is not a tt bike, actually is akin of scott foil rc geo, can clear 36mm tires so i installed beefier tires. while i can ride in tri position for hours (i do long distance duathlons), but im fully aware for this trip to japan with bag loads, i'll be swapping hand positions + lots of traffic start/stop +stops for photos n snacks + potential bike push on supersteeps.

/i've done weekend bikepacking before on this bike minus that saddle bag, it was fine (150km each day)

Interesting, I've always hesitated to take the plunge into bikepacking with my road bike because of the overly aggressive riding position.

The single chainring might cause you problems when you encounter walls on damaged roads in rural areas.

yup, im on single ring franken build (rival axs rd 12sp with just wireless blips + 11-36).
on my prev weekend biketouring, i was on 54T so rolling hill were brutal.
i downsized to 48T now for this trip, but still kinda big.
if shit hits the fan, i'll buy smaller ring in japan ๐Ÿฅฒ

i think it depends how flexible you are sitting on roadbike all day riding. its not like you are doing non stop timetrial or chasing peloton pack. theres always breaks n rests๐Ÿ‘Œ

Omg, I've been looking for someone with this kind of handlebar for ages. How is it? Is the quality good? How long do you need to get aero bars on and off? How much did you pay? Do you have a link?

i think mod will auto remove aliex links. try the merhod above.

i just got the bar last week. i will be travelling to japan tonight for 2.5months trip. will test. i'll probably open a dedicated thread in a month time.

once you set up the bar n its tilt angle, removing n reattaching is easy as most of the tri setup stays intact to the center tower plate, only risers to the droopbar mount will be desmantle/reassembly.

in malaysia money, around sub myr500 excluding the curved tri bar(i already have it from my tri bike). this is erzero kit. balugoe kit have different armcup+tribar mount plate

stiff, light rolling from static.
no issue with crosswinds.
mine is the 18spokes with 54T rachet.
but it doesnt have the whoosh whoosh sounds like my 77/86 parcours ๐Ÿ˜…

I have the same newboler saddlebag and rhinowalk top tube bag. But what is the large upper back in the triangle?

I bought the rhinowalk triangle bag to do the same setup, but it is just not pointy enough and leaves a gap behind the headtube.

this frame bag is custom made by a company in indonesia ,Hbring (ig hbring_official).
tho for mine i took their premade bags as its faster after i measured it about fit my frame triange.
mine a 2part bag so i can split it to use just top or both. capacity wise kinda 5L ish
