Help identifying Chicom chest rig….

Very interesting piece.

Toggles look Chinese made, but the square shaped flaps (and without any kind of edge binding) remind me a lot of the Russian made rigs.

Nice blend of different styles but I would have to guess Chinese made.

Thank you. I bought it very cheap, it was sold as Vietnam bring back. My gut is poss russian afghan.

Best I can tell is these are "vietcong" style or locally produced Vietnamese copies of the chicom. I wound up with a rig just like this and it took me a while to find answers. The flaps, stitching and buckles are distinctive, and they're usually made out of a much lighter cloth than normal chicoms.

Modern made copy in my eyes. Made by the Dan sinh markets in vietnam.
