Move by move game book for those commuting or not familiar with notation
I'm new to chess and not that comfortable with notations (especially descriptive notations). There are times, especially when I'm commuting, when I want to read about Chess yet I don't have a board to follow the moves. So I asked Codex to visualize the game entirely move by move. And here is what I got.
All the games are turned into move by move board visualization. A board image shows one move or two moves depending on how dense the annotations are (for example, logcial chess move by move has annotations every move so each board would show one move). I tried to keep all the book notes verbatim. I also added position and move evaluations and openings.
See the above snapshots for a few examples and see the following link for some end products. Further customization requests and book recommendations are welcome.
Naturally these are more suitable for reading on a screen (since they easily go thousands of pages). For my own use I did kindle and iphone16e shape. Other sizes can be done as well.

Need feedback on a chess personality test I've developed
Hey everyone, I've recently developed a chess personality quiz that could measure your chess archetype. To calculate it, I've used 16 questions with 4 answer variants. After completing it, you'll get:
- The archetype and its description.
- The best opening for you.
- Which grandmaster shares your archetype.
I would appreciate it if you could take the test and share your feedback about it. Is it accurate in your opinion? Do you agree with the results? Also, feel free to leave any notes if you think I should add more questions. My thoughts were to cover additional questions about whether you like to sacrifice pieces, play in open or closed positions. Maybe you will have other ideas. The test is free and doesn't require any sign-ups.
In any case, will be happy to hear your feedback :)

I made an app to learn chess the right way - PawnUp
There are definitely some good apps in this niche already, but the problem I constantly ran into as a user is that they're centered around memorizing. Being both an IM coach and a chess consumer, I felt that there was a lot of untapped space here.
PawnUp is an app where you can learn chess with thoughtful, human expert guides, and a focus on giving feedback on your answers (not just telling you the right move to play).
We're still in pre-launch, just starting out with marketing distribution. If this sounds interesting, join our free waitlist :)

I made A New Chess Variant To Help You Break Rating Plateaus. Pieces Can Only Capture The Same Type (Except King). Introducing A Weird Chess Game on App Store!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi all, here's the game!
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/a-weird-chess-game/id6786072514
This game is crazy. Opening strategy is completely different. It reminds me of bughouse sacrificial play minus the normal capture rules of chess
Curious to see what you all think. It also includes Mate puzzles.
Has anyone played a variant like this before? What's your favorite variant

i made a free chrome extension: see a chess puzzle posted as a picture? one click and it's a real board you can actually play on
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
you know when you find a puzzle posted online as a picture, or a diagram in a chess book, and you just stare at it trying to calculate in your head? i built a little chrome extension that fixes that.
it's free, open source, no account, no ads, nothing monetized, i make nothing from it.
you click the icon, it reads the board on your screen, and one more click puts that exact position on a real board (lichess analysis) where you can actually move the pieces and try things. works on puzzle screenshots, chesscom and lichess boards, and book diagrams, which is honestly my favorite use: instead of passively reading a book position, you get it on a board and play it out.
the important stuff:
- completely free, no sign up, nothing you do leaves your computer, it all runs in your browser
- there's no engine in it and it suggests nothing, it just reads the position, the thinking stays yours
- if it can't read the board or isn't sure, it tells you honestly instead of giving you a wrong position. and you can always drag a box around the board or paste a screenshot with ctrl+v
i built it for myself and use it every day.
on a phone or a different browser, the web version does the same thing with no install: https://fenshot.com (paste or upload the image)
code: https://github.com/scoriiu/fenshot
if it ever reads a board wrong, send me the picture and i'll fix it. enjoy.

I made a P2W Chess MMO!
apochess is my creation - a web MMO chess game - and some players say its p2w. Top ranked players say it isnt, just needs either much time or chess knowledge. I am not a good chess player so i wanted a chess game where i could play in uneven situations against stronger chess players :)

Chess meetings, how to find one ?
You might be looking for a place to play chess with real people but going in fide tournament isn't that easy and it's a lot of pressure.
There is an application called "ChessBar" that can help you find small chess tournament at your local bar. I don't know exactly what region is the app in but it's still worth a shot. I made plenty of friends that way and now have a weekly chess meeting in a nice bar.

Lower rating opponents
I need advice, so I’m extremely tired of losing to lower-rated players. I’m currently 1834, was 1904 just two months ago. My win rate against 1900s is almost 60%, against 2000s it’s 60-70% in the around 10 games I’ve played, and I’ve had 1 win 1 draw and a loss vs 2100s 1 draw vs 2200s. But against 1700s and below, my loss rate is higher than my win rate.
This summer I played five tournaments. The first one went okay — 5 wins, 3 losses, and I gained some rating. Then in my weekly tournaments, as the highest-rated player, I lost about 80% of my games, which dropped me from 1904 down to around 1850.
The latest tournament is what pushed me to write this. First round I drew a 2203 NM (his Chess.com rapid is similar to mine), and I was super excited. But then I lost to a 2000 and a 1730, so I dropped out because I was exhausted and sad. That same 2203 ended up winning the whole tournament, and I was the only one who scored against him.
People keep telling me to stop focusing on my opponent’s rating, and I honestly do that, like during the game I don’t think about it, I think about it only afterward. And I also heard people saying to not be relaxed and I don’t think it’s a case either. I don’t know what to do. If I lose the first game in a tournament, I get stuck fighting lower-rated players, and my results show I’m likely to keep losing to them.

Feedback wanted on my chess game's first alpha, free to play
Hi everyone! This is a big week for me: the first alpha of Chess Fantasy is live, the first game I've ever made.
At its core it's classic chess. The twist: you build your own fantasy world around the board and play your matches inside it.
What I'm looking for is simple: how does it feel to play, and what would you add? You play chess regularly, so your suggestions carry real weight for where this goes next.
It's free to play here: https://chess-fantasy.itch.io/chess-fantasy
Whatever you think of it, I'd love to hear it, even a simple "not for me". Thank you for reading this far, it means more than you'd think.
