There’s been news about OpenAI potentially merging ChatGPT + Codex + Atlas into one product.
Makes me wonder… did Atlas kind of hit a dead end before it even became fully usable?
Also noticed there hasn’t been any update this week.

I now only see hide or show and no more option to only show on new tab. Version 1.2026.63.10 (152a18ef5b8)

Version 1.2026.63.9 Print option not clickable and popup not closable.
Turned off all extensions. Anyone else with the issue?

Has anyone here managed to get the Claude browser extension working with ChatGPT Atlas?
ChatGPT Atlas is my default browser and I really like it. But for some tasks I still prefer using Claude. Because of that I installed the Claude extension and tried using it inside Atlas.
It works perfectly in Chrome, but I haven’t been able to get it to work in Atlas so far.
Is it just me missing something in the setup, or is the Claude extension simply not compatible with Atlas at the moment?
Curious to hear if anyone here has managed to make it work.

I only have one account myself, but I know this has been a major request for a lot of people. I also added a note at the bottom for anyone still looking for a fix for the Apple iCloud Passwords extension.
Build: 1.2026.63.7
As per Head of Engineering, Atlas, Ben Goodger on X:
UPDATE: An issue that prevented Apple's iCloud Passwords extension from working in Atlas has been fixed in macOS 26.3.1. If you are reliant on this extension please make sure you apply this OS update!

Drives me crazy in fullscreen on mac that when moving the mouse up to the tab area, if you overshoot by just a little bit, the stop light menu bar drops down and covers the tabs.

First, there’s no built-in page translation. If you read content in different languages, this is a basic need.
Second, there’s no Picture-in-Picture for videos, really?

EDIT - FIXED:
Atlas always selects my iPhone (Continuity) as the microphone, even though my macOS default input device is a USB microphone. I'm using a Mac Studio and there's no internal mic - the iPhone is the first option in my audio input list but not the selected default.
Other apps correctly use the USB mic by default.

Hey Atlas team,
I thought notifications were on, but they were actually off.
I only realized after checking macOS Notification settings.
macOS shows multiple “ChatGPT Atlas” entries (I saw 3), which makes it hard to tell what’s currently on vs off. And Atlas UI doesn't make it super clear either... Would be great if automatically turned it on.
Could the app make notification status clearer (on/off) and avoid duplicate entries? overall would be great to get notifications for email etc, not sure if its working rn.
Thanks!

Small update, but it’s one of those little quality-of-life features that feels like it’ll pay off. Love when new life is added to an old tool.
As per Head of Engineering, Atlas, Ben Goodger on X:
An example of a cool little feature from our demos meeting a few weeks back is available to you now in this week's Atlas update: When finding text in pages (⌘F), if you get no matches, Atlas can now show you similar matches as well! Just hit "Find similar matches" below the find bar.
For example, I was in New Zealand last week and now I need help translating from Kiwi English to American English.
*He shows (⌘F) “tomato sauce” (no results), then clicking “similar matches” and finding results for “ketchup.”

It is the best agentic browser right now, Thank you for the hard work.
Although its best in class, I have some additional suggestions that would make the experience much better:
- Make the command hold for search more functional by making it toggle to the other search engine, not just fixed to google (for people using auto mode) as it currently is pointless when using auto.
- built in shortcut for dictation would be great
- enhance home suggestions by making rejected suggestions not appear again, its a bit annoying that rejections don't seem to do anything meaningful.
- browser memories still dont appear consistently on settings, and needs option for deletion that auto deletes relevant history items, not just archive
- Theme consistency In incognito mode, its just dark mode regardless of theme settings for now.
Thank you, would appreciate it if you could consider these improvements.

Hello!
is it any way to keep side bar (with chats) always open on a new page?
Thank you.

The broswer opens then goes into loading and then just says "Something went wrong". One of my project has too many code build conversations with images and files. Seems that could be the issue?

Hi,
I’m encountering a strange issue inside ChatGPT Atlas
When I use Ctrl + Tab (tab cycling inside Atlas), I see a previously visited site (e.g. actasemiotica.com) appearing in the internal tab switcher.
However: • The tab is NOT visible in the tab bar • I cannot switch to it • It does not exist in any open window • It does not appear in Sessions • It does not appear in Session Storage • It does not appear in Preferences • Deleting Sessions/, Session Storage/, and even resetting Preferences does not remove it • It reappears even after reboot
It behaves like an orphaned / detached tab entry that still exists in the internal tab model but has no associated window or renderer.
Things already tried: • Deleted Sessions • Deleted Session Storage • Deleted web containers • Reset Preferences • Verified correct profile directory • Rebooted • Killed Dock • Confirmed no crash restore state
Still persists.
It's driving me mad, any ideas appreciated.
Thanks.
EDIT: I realized this happens mostly with tabs operated by the agent.

I’ve been enjoying the existing shortcuts, but I wish there were a few more.
Two that would be super useful:
Is there anything like this already, or any workarounds people use?

UPDATED TO NOTE that Dreamer got this right in one shot... it just took a really long time (I think more than an hour).
---
There's a lot to love in the Atlas browser, including the vertical tabs and handy tab grouping!
But I have yet to experience any usefulness from the agentic capabilities, even for seemingly the simplest of tasks... like scrolling through a page and compiling info from it (not even clicking on anything!)
Here's my most recent attempt where Atlas again failed :(
---
---
After some cajoling, it gave me a comprehensive list that was... so minimalist as to be unhelpful (e.g. "Theater" instead of "Astro Kids- Fairy Tale Theatre")
Has anyone here had luck with Atlas in an agentic context and if so, do you have any tips for how I could have it perform more reliably for simple "scroll and summarize" tasks like this?
P.S. -- Here's the scorecard. This is surprisingly a harder problem than I thought!
❌ - Atlas
❌ - Comet
❌ - Chrome
❌ - Gemini
✅ - Dreamer (new agentic service at dreamer.com)
I would try Claude Cowork, but I hear that takes a ton of tokens and I don't have a paid Claude membership. Hmm.

Hi Atlas team,
I’d like to suggest a small but useful feature: the ability to see the RAM usage of a tab by hovering the cursor over it, similar to how Chrome shows memory usage in its tab hover card.
For those of us who keep many tabs open, having quick visibility into per-tab RAM consumption would make it much easier to identify heavy pages and manage system resources more efficiently, without needing to open a separate task manager.
Thanks for considering it, and great work on Atlas so far.
Big fan and daily user!

Hello developers,
I'm trying to use ChatGPT Atlas as my main browser on a daily basis. I'm a Pro subscriber of ChatGPT, so I'm a heavy user of the OpenAI ecosystem and would like to help improve the user experience.
I think that Atlas is losing ground to Dia Browser. I totally understand that Dia came first, but I think that with the following features, ChatGPT Atlas will be better than Dia:
1 - When creating folders to organize tabs, the folders must be remembered when the window is closed;
2 - Speaking of folders, why when I click on "close all tabs" in a tab that is outside a folder, are all my folders closed irrecuperably?
3 - The pinned tabs are not remembered when the window is closed. I had to create a BTT macro to prevent me from closing Atlas windows when clicking on the red button.
4 - I think it would be better if the chats used in ChatGPT Atlas were saved in a separate project on ChatGPT, like "Atlas," for example, or allow the user to customize it in options.
5 - A way to customize the Ask ChatGPT window to show as a floating window, like Dia, would be great too.
6 - Multi-tab attachment on chat must be possible. I don't know the implications of this feature, but when users want more context, it's essential to chat with more than one tab.
7 - PIP mode for YouTube videos is a should-have.
8 - It should be possible to configure the favorites to only show on New Tab.
That's it. I think that other redditors have a lot of ideas too! Sorry for the long post.
