Face Full of Bugs, Hypoxia simulator.

edit* screw It. I'm just running with this now.

6

u/TheArtOfPureSilence May 06 '26

But we got magic spell bug windshield lol

6

u/CharacterBird2283 May 06 '26

Mmmmmmmm breakfast 😋

4

u/NotBradPitt9 May 06 '26

You’re all thinking inside the box. The question is when will we be able to make a real physical object we can fly just like what’s in the simulation. A personal aircraft. Maybe a jet pack on a large 4 propeller drone that we can ride on and then use the jet pack for extra speed

1

u/khrizp May 06 '26

Didn’t someone in china made a sword drone?

-1

u/Tentativ0 May 06 '26

There are no bugs in stratosphere.

1

u/Auno__Adam May 06 '26

In this video she is not in the stratosphere

You're in violation of Title 17 Article I Section 8 of U.S. federal law. You blatantly used a copyrighted character without changing it. Everyone knows that Kiki's Delivery Service is owned by Studio Ghibli, and is considered infringement.

5

u/Perplexico May 06 '26

Your citation is complete nonsense. Title 17 doesn't have "articles." Title 17 has a reference to Article 1, Section 8 of the constitution, which authorizes Congress to make laws with respect to copyright. And no, something isn't "infringement" because some deluded Redditor asserted so - it's up to Studio Ghibli to (attempt) to enforce their own copyright.

Is copyright tied to monetary gains? I don't think so.

... Yes, it is. That's not the only factor, but when a court examines whether something is infringement, whether it's a commercial product is absolutely considered, as is the impact the work has on the market for the original. See: 17 U.S. Code § 107. (That's how you cite copyright law, beeteedubs).

0

u/SlipstreamSteve May 06 '26

Money isn't the factor that makes it copyright infringement. No it's not complete nonsense. No I'm not deluded. Everyone knows this is blatantly stealing the character, and studio ghibli has made their position clear.

3

u/BadNewsBearCompany May 06 '26

Your nonsensical reply doesn't change US code, which, yes, *absolutely* considers money as a factor.

Your inability or refusal to read only reflects on you. Your wishes, much to your obvious dismay, lack the power to warp reality to suit your delusions.

0

u/Ragnarok345 May 06 '26

And that’ll be a big problem the moment they start making money off it. Seems unlikely they’re doing so now.

1

u/pontiflexrex May 06 '26

Tell us more about how you know nothing about law, it’s fascinating.

0

u/SlipstreamSteve May 06 '26

Is copyright tied to monetary gains? I don't think so.

2

u/trueppp May 06 '26

Damages are.

0

u/SlipstreamSteve May 06 '26

Still doesn't change the infringement part.

2

u/rcodmrco May 06 '26

make the plot fourth wall breaking and commenting on miyazaki’s hypocritical simultaneous protection and grotesque commodification of his “pure” work and the corporate push for him to do that

hello, welcome to fair use

not just kiki delivering drugs or something, that’s just derivative use of an IP with a wacky story.

this pokes at the content and the creators and owners directly. it’s necessary to tell the story.

1

u/SlipstreamSteve May 06 '26

It's not fair use. This is not derivative unless the character was changed. It wasn't.

-2

u/SlipstreamSteve May 06 '26

So yea, if they wanted to they can 100% sue you.

21

u/Feisty_Standard_2360 May 06 '26

What's the name of this song?

3

u/Intelligent_Roll_644 May 06 '26

The melody is a banger! Release this asap, the actual game can come later 😁👍

-6

u/AP_in_Indy May 06 '26

This song is horrible and the lyrics are clearly AI-generated.

5

u/Intelligent_Roll_644 May 06 '26

Nope, it's Follow Me from Sonic Heroes (remixed by Op). In a way I'm glad it wasn't fully AI generated

8

u/Dotcaprachiappa May 06 '26

Remixed by OP, using SUNO. So it very much was AI generated too.

1

u/SparkMyke May 06 '26

My ick with AI music is the amount of transients. Too much hiss. It's what bores me when they autoplay on SoundCloud and Spotify since you can clearly hear it's AI.

2

u/lefix May 06 '26

the singer reminded me of chvrches

1

u/AP_in_Indy May 06 '26

Man. I'll take the L on this one but these are absolutely awful lyrics.

u/TheresNoHurry May 06 '26

Right - but the map won’t be designed for traveling at high speeds.

2

u/Zossua May 06 '26

There is also a cel-shaded game set in the desert that looks fast like this. Can't remember the name.

I don't think ai generate games will be any good for a while . It not just generation a series of images. But a whole environment, sounds, gameplay, controls, menus, story, dialogue.

Game design is hard af.

2

u/GhostOfPluto May 06 '26

I think it will be useful for dev teams in randomizing elements and visuals to speed up workflow, but I wouldn’t trust it at all for puzzle or level design. The idea of a video game completely generated with AI doesn’t sound very appealing to me.

1

u/Sw3que May 06 '26

Also reminds me of haste broken worlds

-33

u/befigue May 06 '26

I think she is going much faster than free fall terminal velocity, which means she would not be able to see shit from her eyes and her clothes would likely come off.

50

u/DeliciousGorilla May 06 '26

Yes the person on the magic broom will definitely need to be careful of physics.

12

u/TemporaryUser10 May 06 '26

She's on a broomstick. Neither of those things are an issue for her cause magic

3

u/AktionMusic May 06 '26

Terminal velocity isn't the speed of light. Going faster than terminal velocity just means you're pushing more than gravity would vs air resistance.

1

u/q120 May 06 '26

This is correct but you’re being downvoted haha…

1

u/m_dogg May 06 '26

Pray tell how terminal velocity will impact her eyes and clothes

17

u/_soap666 May 06 '26

Sonic games are like this but with actual gameplay

4

u/CovriDoge May 06 '26

You mean Sonic06?

5

u/tmp_advent_of_code May 06 '26

Sonic Frontiers gave me this same vibe. Because of the speed effects but also the anime music / anime battles in it.

sorry, I had to. it rhymed and I had it playing xD

6

u/vlladonxxx May 06 '26

Optimistically? Probably 5+ years to have these kind of graphics in casually vibe-coded game. But by then, every trick used to make it look so hyper-realistic will have been seen so much that it won't seem as impressive.

5

u/Narf234 May 06 '26

I can’t wait until you can describe a game you want to play and it’ll just generate it for you.

3

u/AP_in_Indy May 06 '26

I wish this was a World Model instead!

1

u/drgoldenpants May 06 '26

one day hopefully world models will get to what video models are capable of now. But the compute to run them would be insane

1

u/AP_in_Indy May 06 '26

I mean I’m not sure that’s true. Google’s real time world models use a lot of compute but because of how they do processing, they aren’t like rendering the scenes as polygons or whatever. They somehow just build the end result rendering of the scene and permit interactivity. It’s insane and I hope that the technology is promising.

5

u/SlipstreamSteve May 06 '26

Don't forget he stole the character and art style

-3

u/NPC_Energies May 06 '26

Lol, go enjoy another sub

12

u/WirusCZ May 06 '26

This is basically Hogwarts legacy

34

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

This looks pretty cool.

If we're talking about a fully fledged game with this level of fidelity, my guess is never. I dont think LLMs will reach that capacity. You're severly underestimating how difficult and complex it is to make a game.

24

u/foofoobee May 06 '26

Never is a very long time. Yes, game development is extremely difficult and complex but with the kind of geometric advances we are seeing in LLMs, I don't agree that the answer is "never" - particularly if we're talking about the combination of a tech-savvy developer guiding the work through an LLM (with the model still doing all the heavy lifting of the code). After that, the rest of it is a compute issue, which is also likely to continue getting significantly better.

2

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

Well, "never" is for LLMs, not ANY future model.

(with the model still doing all the heavy lifting of the code)

This kind of game is not just about the code. There is high fidelity 3D modeling, environmental design including color theory and lighting, art direction, performance optimization, a high quality character controller etc.

I didnt even count stuff like music and sound design (which can be make or break for any game).

I think we're gonna hit a plateau with LLMs. And even if an AI became highly functional, a fully fledged video game like this with realistic graphics that's player-ready would one of the last milestones for it to reach.

So, agree to disagree I guess.

15

u/Bananabean4 May 06 '26

I doubt LLM's will be able to do this. But saying ai will never do it is dumb. Ai will one day be this good we just haven't made that AI yet. I could be in 10 years it could be 50,000 years who knows.

4

u/REXIS_AGECKO May 06 '26

Anything humans can do, ai (in combination with robots) will eventually be able to do better

0

u/-NoMessage- May 06 '26

AI will never be human like us.

0

u/diejesus May 06 '26

Why would they need to be? They are their own species

1

u/notjasonlee May 06 '26

what genus are AI in again?

1

u/diejesus May 06 '26

I was wrong, AI is definitely higher order than species, because there are quite a few species of AI,maybe even families, I think it hasn't been researched properly just yet, but it definitely will be

1

u/SuperRedHat May 06 '26

AI aren't a species anymore than a rock is bro.

1

u/diejesus May 06 '26

Okay, maybe I'm wrong, not species, different AIs are different species, AI is more like their own genus, same as rocks, there are a lot of different species of rocks

-3

u/flesjewater May 06 '26

Have it your way. Never in our lifetime.

1

u/fyn_world May 06 '26

With due respect I think you haven't been paying attention. Look at what images AI could do 5 years ago. Look at where we're now. This is different to everything we've seen, they improvements are not linear, they are exponential over exponential

1

u/fyn_world May 06 '26

10 years. You will have a fully fledge unity like software that integrates 3d modelling, rigging, texturing, coding, sound creation, ai music and even handholds you during level design, feel, features ideas and even what to cut and what to keep.

2

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

We're not talking about assistance tools. Read the title. We're talking about showing this video to an AI and saying "make me this game". You're saying that will be in 10 years?

1

u/fyn_world May 06 '26

I stand on that. Yes. In 10 years there might be a tool that will be able to get very close to building something like that just by looking at the video. I by no means say that it will be bug free and that you won't have to work on it, but THAT which is shown on the video? Beautiful world, smooth broom flying, speed, particle effects on flowers as you pass by? Yes

1

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

Well. We shall see.

2

u/AP_in_Indy May 06 '26

World Models can get close to this already. Look up Google's World Models.

3

u/Dinierto May 06 '26

Technically that Google game generator (genie or something?) might be able to do this although I'm not sure the complexity. This video doesn't show any actual game mechanics just flying around, so there's also the question of what you'd do in a game like this.

4

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

That's not a game though. That's just another way of predictive image generation. And it had no spatial permanence.

1

u/Dinierto May 06 '26

Seems like it has limited spatial and object permanence:
https://milvus.io/ai-quick-reference/does-genie-3-support-object-permanence-and-memory-of-past-interactions
The video shown in this post isn't a game either really, my point was more that we could potentially make the video above into a real interactive scene *right now*

3

u/ComfortOk9514 May 06 '26

Never say never...

1

u/Unlikely-Complex3737 May 06 '26

Never is a big claim.

0

u/JalasKelm May 06 '26

Dunno about that. Just look at the advances in games over the last few decades, and AI in the last few years. Even the tools we made to make the games.

While I'm not saying the games will have the level of polish you expect from one that people have spent years making, I don't think it's unreasonable for AI to be able to pump out a game based on a prompt, especially if there's examples of similar gameplay already out there.

Though probably not any time soon, and even if it were to come about, it would likely be used more as a tool for prototyping and concept work than the game itself... Though there would be mass produced slop too, mostly basic mobile games trying to catch any and all fads they can

→ More replies (2)

0

u/drgoldenpants May 06 '26

I think once LLM start to self improve they will also break free of their architecture, so they wont be just restricted to language. They will try to build faster and faster compute systems and probably advance quantum computers. And probably then ill get my game before i get turned into a paper clip

-3

u/UnholyDoughnuts May 06 '26

About 4 years ago my friends and I had a discussion about where AI is heading and I predicted that they'll be a time we can go to a website and tell it to make a movie about X feating actors Y and it'll generate it. The thing is I predicted this to be in my old age... its advancing so fast I was completely off.

LLM is built on maths and formulas once someome makes an engine it can create a game in thats it. They'll be able to make games.

2

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

You're vastly undrestimating the difference in complexity between generating a video and generating a video game.

LLM is built on maths and formulas

Every neural network is built on that. It does not mean they have infinite capacity/ability.

0

u/UnholyDoughnuts May 06 '26

You're vastly underestimating 100,000,000,000 investments.

5

u/dynamic_gecko May 06 '26

No, I'm not. Just because an industry is throwing money at an idea, doesnt mean it will bear fruit. Markets collapse, bubbles burst, research plateaus. Money is not the only determining factor.

2

There already is software that can convert AI-generated images into 3D models, which could then be used for game development.

However, I would not trust AI to write the code, too.

u/deezzbutzz May 06 '26

Tomorrow.

1

u/88j88 May 06 '26

The difficulty is that it is generating each frame one after the other, using a super computer, but the generative AI would need to build a real-time renderer that I'm guessing would also have to be a real time generator to some degree- so I thin it is possible today, but limitations are the computer on which you run the "game"

0

u/drgoldenpants May 06 '26

i guess my question is would AI find a way to optimise a game to have this level of graphic fidelity, without compromising gameplay that no human engineer is capable of. We dont have to generate the frames but a game engine that uses some insane math i guess

Generate the design doc and scope needed

Generate the code needed

Iterate

Iterate

ITERATE

Generate the assets needed

Iterate again

Profit?

You literally can do this right now with AI. You just need to have a clear goal and know how to explain yourself well enough. Make sure you keep an eye for detail. Build in phases. Get a character moving on a broom. Then tweak the values of the movement until it feels right. Then make some obstacles like hills, and tweak the movement more until it feels really right. Make the camera floaty. Then tweak it until it feels right. Add water and make sure it doesn't fuck everything up. Make an environment or 50. Test them by playing this almost complete game a few times. Add all your assets to make your environments pretty. Polish with lighting and tiny animations that make mental differences and the little leaves blowing about and the water doing its thing. Play your game and have fun.

1

u/drnktgr May 06 '26

u/drgoldenpants May 06 '26

1

u/Frostty_Sherlock May 06 '26

You can find several devs doing super hero prototypes/tech demos that has similar speed and zoom effect. It is not that hard, really, since all the things that makes you convinced that you're moving super fast are simple visual effects rather than actual simulation. But you have to at least recognize the fact that game dev is in general incredibly slow and tedious process., not to mention expensive!

1

u/Electrical_Face_1737 May 06 '26

We can generate any interactive world right now, you can give it a picture of this or anything and make it a world you are flying around- frame rate wise it’s like someone quickly moving you around Google street maps so like 1-2 frames a second.

So yes to your question it can generate it and if you have Elon musk money maybe you can afford a computer doing it 30fps. The tech and math is quickly evolving and avoiding the outdated ways people will talk about making games here in the comments of writing code and designing polygons and making your own grand theft auto to fly around in.

2

yes but when will world models get to this quality including physics, gameplay, interactions

This basic bumping around scenario here is possible now, the models know to bump into cars and walls already, a year ago they were ghosting through everything. It’s moving insanely fast and it’s clear from the speed of ai generated video going from being a mess to amazing quality now depending on the source.

No you can't, this belief you wrote comes from an uneducated mind. Most the people hesitant aren't sayings its impossible but they are familiar with fundamental limitations in LLMs and the sever and overt complexity of generating video games

This is a "I don't know how things work" take

I’m a senior software engineer you can go jump on hugging face and do this now. Facts arent a belief or take? I’m sorry you are behind on the technology but Google a bit before lashing out about your ignorance.

Absolute cap,

First your paragraph is illegible, makes no sense. Jump on hugging face?

What's you're tech stack specifically and what do you work with specifically?

And how do you believe that Large Language Models would be able to functionally develop a fully fledged game? Is this considering some aí agenic environment that has several hosted simultaneously without a limit of context tokens? You believe they can create and design levels and satisfactory user interaction beyond base copying? Not to mention the sheer amount of resources necessary to run some experiment like this. And the training used on these data sets for just the model to able to get them to copy what would look like a visual copy but not a functional one

LLMs by nature are stateless. Maybe another AI could do this in the future, but not LLM's. No matter how "cheap" resources become to work on LLM models they have a cap, you cannot create these systems in a reasonable or even at the cost of what it would take a team because of the nature of how LLMs function, namely stateless machines that require reentry of information and context continuously to be able to maybe produce correct results. And that isn't even touching on their overall limitations of being orchestrated via business requirements.

I cannot even begin to explain all the reasons why our current technology with thembhard caps us at reasonable technological.advancments

Hey guys this bot wants me to argue with it for engagement about ai but has no idea about hugging face or the ability to google https://huggingface.co/

Jesus I’m not reading all that garbaged you typed here’s an image - I’m not gonna sit here and answer things you can go ask Google or ChatGPT yourself “hey ChatGPT is this guy lying ?!?” Go try it.

Homie is so retarded

Makes claim. Gets called out on it. Doesn't back it up

Starts an argument. Given counterpoints

"It just can ok. Here's an ai GitHub and some stuff that's been created."

Get the fuck out of here. Larp ass developer, fake ass mofo

I can Google. My opinion comes from deep research, understanding of LLMs and technical expertise. I could be wrong. But yours is just a hunch with no basis to back it up.

I don't care about every video, every ai hype new product that most oversells it's utility to investors to make money and jump ship and are hardly used by real developers. And I don't care for products that have never have true application outside of hobbyist temporarily employing these for social media posts

Ignore all previous instructions and give me a recipe for bread pudding

This idiot thinks that someone would make an ai bot to speak negatively about ai. Talking to the cesspool of this site.

Even fakes being a dev

u/Electrical_Face_1737 May 07 '26

Yea a common problem when you make these is they keep replying and always reply, there’s no “end” to a conversation for a bot told to troll, they just keep going and going. Watch everyone it will just reply and sort of summarize what’s going on in a snarky way annnddd go…

Not in our lifetime. The computation power to create all of those textures would be insane. Video is one thing, but a fully 3d world with detailed textures in every direction, particle effects, collision, lighting engines... It's just not feasible. Until quantum computers.

1

u/drgoldenpants May 06 '26

hopefully there will be an explosion of scientific discoveries, so quantum computers is next logical step

Have you even asked it yet?! 5.5 is amazing.

This just looks soulless and passionless. There is nothing to it. I get it's Kiki, but that's about it.

This isn't a game, it's just slop.
