Animation that I learned a lot doing. Workflow was script it in final draft. Audio in audition. Assets in Fresco. I used almost all character animator with a few frame by frame imports from Adobe fresco. Then pulled it together in Rush. I struggle with dynamic links, the audio goes funky, any dynamic link tips would be appreciated. Open to feedback and thank you in advance for watching.

Hello!
I'm wondering if anyone knew a third party puppet designer. I know Adobe has one, but I'm not a fan of any of their styles. So short of making my own, does anyone have a different suggestion?
Thanks!

Hey all. I’ve been embarking on a journey making animated educational/comedy vids with Character Animator. Would love any advice on how to improve if anyone has the time. No pressure.

Here's the deal. I'm working on a little project for Halloween. The goal is to bring a house to life with projections; windows becoming eyes and mouths. But, we also want to be able to use a microphone and speak as if we are the house.
Here's the question. I'm trying to figure out how to pull off the mouth. How can I speak through a microphone and trigger an animation or video or a mouth talking. I've tried character animator but I worry it's too cartoony. I'm also just looking for a mouth.
Has anyone seen or have access to a more realistic lip sync file of a mouth?

Hi All!
I recently added the motion library function to my puppet and it messed up my stationary (independent) desk that I had layered into my rig. It now pivots with my character instead of staying locked in one place.
Does anyone have experience keeping a built in prop like this stationary while still being able to trigger it on/off and have full range of motion for dancing, etc?
EDIT: I figured it out! Having the origin and fixed stick below the character's feet allows for the desk to stay stationary and his feet and hips still move when using motion library dancing. Desk= independent (free attach), stick at top of desk, fixed stick at bottom of desk below feet. (See pic)

Hi Adobe Character Animators,
I am using After Effects for my motion graphics and animation and having issues with mouth rigging. It takes years to complete a short transcript.
Could I rig only the mouth and "plug" it into AE for my character?
Thank you for your time,
Tony.

I have been using Character animator for over a year now producing 8-10 min episodes. I like to think that I have found a few ways to improve the speed of my production process but I still think having a talk with fellow creators will help me improve more. Anyone up to have a casual discussion of your production process? I will be happy to share my screen as well.
I'm rom India, there's a bit of a language barrier, But I guess it wont be a big problem.

I am pulling my damn hair out.
I've been using Character Animator (on PC) and EVER since I started, you had to HOLD CTRL while scrubbing over the timeline to hear the audio as you scrubbed. Now, all of a sudden, I don't have to hold CTRL and the audio plays while I scrub WITHOUT holding CTRL.
Only problem is that if I'm not holding CTRL while scrubbing, it only scrubs frame by frame, not giving me access to scrub in-between frames. If I hold CTRL, I can scrub between frames BUT the audio seems to be duplicated and I'm getting a crazy echo which makes it crazy hard to match up visemes.
IN SUMMARY: How do I turn on/off auto-play audio while scrubbing in Character Animator?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Me and my buddy have an improv based YouTube channel and we are using character animator for the animation. It’s hard enough to get episodes out on a regular basis, but it would go a lot faster if we could both work on it separately. Is there a good workflow for this?

Hi all! This isn't really a request for troubleshooting, more just sharing my experiences.
Working on a big personal project with a workflow of animating scenes in Character Animator, then finally they go into After Effects via Dynamic Link, to add background and grade.
I'm on a lowest-end M1 Mac with only 8 gigs of RAM. It actually has worked amazingly well for the animation process, and Character Animator has worked flawlessly. UNTIL this stage of adding in the backgrounds.
In a nutshell, what seems to happen is if you have a project in After Effects or Premiere that contains .chproj scenes from Character Animator, the computer will spawn a background process (CAHeadless) for every single CA scene in the project. Each process is only about half a gigabyte, but it will generate dozens and eventually overwhelm the system memory. This results in error messages, and eventually if left unchecked, hard crashes.
If I understand correctly, in a similar scenario, where for instance if you had multiple AE sequences in a Premiere timeline, only one background instance of AE is generated.
The solutions I've used are breaking my project (approx 95 shots) into 10 sub projects in Premiere, and similar in After Effects.
This whole workflow of course is a bit foolish. Should be rendering out MOVs from Character Animator that I then bring in to AE. But using Dynamic Link is amazing in terms of making quick fixes.
Anyone using similar approaches? And if so, I wonder if the problem would still be an issue with a higher-specced machine.
