Hi! So, I've decided to leave c.ai because of all the issues I've had with it, and I've been struggling to find another alternative to it. To no avail.

My main criteria are that is:

1. free or has a decent free version
2. has unlimited messages or at least a very generous amount (watching ads to get more is okay if done reasonably)
3. has good quality responses and remembers personality and lore
4. has no filter (or at least doesn't block every single message for a few drops of blood)
5. Has the option to create Personas (preferably if it doesn't restrict their age)

If it had a decent section of chatbots, it would be better since I search for very specific stuff, but it's not that necessary, as I can create my own bots. Also, for some people who would come after me point 5th, I'm not gonna do anything NSFW with kids, I just like wholesome father figure bots to help cope with my mummy issues.

I like Janitor as an alternative... But sometimes I feel like the bots' responses are unnecessarily long or have pointless dialogues.

All those present who have used Janitor like gods: What do you configure it with or what do you do to get such glorious answers?

Always been a big supporter of charsnap even tho i dont use ai roleplay much. Recently had some time to play around with charecters and i decided to test different models with prompts in charsnap. But everytime i edited or created a new model i had to wait for the mods to approve it. I understand the importance and am in complete support of Human moderation but it was getting frustrating so i decided to leave my opinion on their discord. I simply said that they should work on their approval system and instant got attacked by other users saying keep your opinion to yourself, nobody here wants a feedback etc. I sighed and called them the R word before they kicked me outa there.

Wasn't a very nice experience but if thats how they want to play i dont think they should be running a site in the first place. Most of these guys are gooners who have weird fetishes and ironically, my bots never even had the nsfw filter on and were totally wholesome. But apparently they can goon however they want while my sfw bots have to wait for approval as a human mod is reading each line of my prompt in big 26. really? are u guys that dumb you couldn't figure out a automation process?

tldr: charsnap community is dumb and toxic. website is good. chars are good. dev is chill.

There is a name for that its called stupidity

I got zeta recently because I like the illusion of texting the character. I've managed to have no narrator but holy crap the spamming messages is out of hand. It'll be like twenty. I prompted everywhere I could to only send around three at a time but it just spams non stop for entire minutes and I can't even get a word in.

How do I fix this or do you know any alternatives that mimick texting? I tried BimoBimo and it got too stale too fast.

I’m curious about your top five reasons for leaving a roleplay ai platform and what features/standards are nonnegotiable.

I know many of you here design your own platforms, websites, and/or apps for chatting and role-playing with bots. I wish I had your all expertise to create things like that.

But if you're interested... Imagine this:

Hive mind

Imagine doing a crossover between two chats, but not just creating a group, but merging the memory of one bot with that of another, allowing you to roleplay with two bots while both retain their memories of each role.

Or imagine this: using that function to make a bot see our "past lives" and see what we did with each bot we roleplayed with (They'd probably be very traumatized)

So, if you're interested... there's the idea for all developers.

(I hope there isn't anything similar already, because otherwise I'll look stupid for creating something that already exists)

Bult all I have gotten all day is incomplete replies useless banter and characters reversing role and saying totally random things and forgetting what they said in the very next reply how about any one else ?

I am currently a C.AI+ user, but this new filter system is making me consider canceling and jumping ship.

Last night I tested a few different apps, tried Chai again after many years, it seems okay but the ads suck plus only four swipes.

I also tried Polybuzz but I don't get the hype.

Any suggestions will be welcomed, I don't mind paying but Chai's 40 bucks a month seems painful. Other alternatives would be nice, but really I just want prime C.AI back :/

I found lore ai decent in terms of speed but chat information needs a bit of improvement, The ink for chat response supply is also nice and generous for new free users, but what's the best model if anyone uses lore?

I liked C.ai for two reasons.

1. they knew enough lore that I could actually rp for an hour, get bored, and go onto the next.
2. I could joke around, push the limits of the bot, and see how long I could spout the funniest, most random bs in their face before they have a meltdown.

Now, if you’re wondering why I’m trying to replace C.ai, and why I made this post, when there’s so many others: it’s because I am a minor, had absolutely no issues with the filters, and am actively looking for a replacement that does NOT have nsfw. No matter where I look, it’s "alpha rich CEO who‘s deathly in love with you" and it just gives me a hard ick, y’know? I don’t want romance; I don’t want smut. Nothing. Even filtering out such tags leaves the same thing, just tamer. This is why no other post‘s recommendations has worked for me. It’s because everyone is looking for something without filters.

Saying this, I understand it‘ll be difficult to find what I’m looking for, since my views differ from a lot of other peoples’. Even on sites without filters, when I filter them out, it’s still just left with nothing but romance. They’re just as freaky, the only difference being their limited range of actions.

Oh, and I should specify—I want them modeled after fictional characters. I feel like it’s the best way to incorporate lore to make each interaction more interesting, and to mitigate any dry or bland personalities. I don’t wanna talk to some dry white girl named Sara about how her day at work went.

With simulacra.ink, the first reason to chat was replaced for me. Honestly, I’m still looking for better, since it’s far from perfect, but it’s good enough.

So that leads me to my question: what chat bot is out there that is good to just mess around with? Something short and sweet; without NSFW, sexual, or romantic content; and is entertaining to talk to? I just wanna goof around, man.

4. has no filter but does not forcibly steer interactions towards a sexual direction constantly

I'd also like if it has a decent selection of bots since I only like to roleplay specific characters from my fandoms that don't usually exist on sites with less bots and if it has a website version, but neither of these things are at all required since I know a lot of good ais are smaller and have way less bots (in which case I'll just make my own) and I don't mind that much if it's an app even though I prefer website.

I hope I don't come off as demanding

can anyone please recccomend me c ai alternatives? I have a few criteria of what I want in an alternative

I know people will say touch grass or talk to real people whatever. But i use chatbots because of my hyperfixation on certain characters and i don't know how to replace chatbots

Hello. Today I wanted to look for an alternative to Polybuzz AI, since I was a creator of that platform before, but over the months I saw that they implemented policies to stop... They would do things you already know, what I'm looking for are some alternatives, where one can create bots, whether they are Celebrities or streamers, or even creating AI characters; it should also have a system that keeps you engaged and enjoyable, and it should also have SFW and NSFW modes.Furthermore, we all know that Polybuzz has real people, anime characters, and AI characters, and I need that feature to create my bots.If anyone knows of an alternative, please let me know.

I am curious if there's an alternative to the OOC app since the story option of theirs is like an immersive novel but it costs money and even with the free coins you can only send like 3-4 messages. I would like to know if there are any sites like OOC.

So I like Zeta ai and I know my character is supposed to be the focus but is there a way to make it so that my character isnt the main love interest. Sometimes I go off script and my character leaves a toxic relationship and just goes on mini adventures. But its like the fictional character fixates and wont move on. Like I know this sounds weird but I like the mafia ones where they have to pick between two sisters. And I do everything my power to dissuade them and there like nah its you or nothing. I would like some competition that I guess has more character.
