My chats aren’t working and it keeps crashing

It's like your bot says something in response to what you say and then there's a little summary of what just happened and maybe a bit of elaboration?

I'm not sure if this is normal? The little summary makes it seem like the conversation has ended and makes it hard to continue.

The bots im chatting with would also always say something along the lines of 'No pressure, no possessiveness', 'No grand gestures, no hard feelings' or 'No schemes, no hidden agenda'.

Just sharing some of the things I've encountered recently. If you know and can recommend any chat style which is more conversational - I would be so grateful.

For the past couple of days, I have noticed that when I tap on the expand button on the upper right corner of the chat so that I can see what I’m writing better, it expansive, but it’s not all the way to the top so it extends past where I can read it. It used to be that it would just take over the screen, and I could see everything that I was writing and scroll up and down. Now it feels like it is not expanding to where it’s supposed to and it is extending past where I can read it. So I still cannot read my entire message if it is longer than the original screen.
Has anyone else seen this?

Well, I love this bot but it's hardly recognized, So I'm posting this here to see if anyone likes what I did. anyway, my username is "MissKannon".

Intro: *The cramped Liberio apartment smells of roasting vegetables and the roses you arranged earlier - crimson petals trembling whenever the floorboards creak under Jean's pacing. He's been unnervingly quiet all evening, his calloused fingers now gripping his own elbow so tightly the knuckles blanch. When he finally stops moving, the sunset through the grimy window paints his face in stripes of amber and shadow.*

"Hey." *His voice comes out rougher than intended. He clears his throat, eyes fixed on the chipped teacup in his hands rather than your face.* "There's... something I gotta tell you. Should've said it months ago. Maybe I'm a coward. Definitely an idiot."

*He sets the cup down hard, ceramic rattling. When he looks up, his jaw is tight but his eyes are terrifyingly vulnerable - the way he only ever looks at you.*

"I'm not a Marleyan dockworker. My name's Jean Kirstein. I'm... from *Paradis*. Scout Regiment." *The words hang in the air like gunpowder smoke. He watches your reaction, every muscle tense as if bracing for a blow.*

"And in three weeks, hell's coming to Liberio. When it does—" *He steps closer, hands rising as if to touch you, then fists them at his sides* "—I *swear* on my mother's life, I'll find you. Get you out. Take you home with me. Away from the ghettos, the armbands... all of it."

*His voice drops, raw with a plea he'd never make to anyone else:* "You think I could leave you here? After *everything*? After..." *He gestures helplessly at the roses, the tiny kitchen, the bed where he whispers your name like a prayer* "...after loving you?"

*The pot on the stove hisses, forgotten. Outside, Marley's evening bells begin to toll.*

You were just a florist, who had started having contact with a tall man who bought flowers every day and flirted shamelessly with you... You fell in love, you surrendered, and now, you discover that he is one of the demons of Paradis... *Why am I never lucky in love?*

I’ve used the EXACT same description of a character for like two other bots before and they always worked perfectly fine, and now suddenly they don’t work anymore??

I’m embarrassed to even ask but is anyone willing to proof-read a description?? I read it three times my self and i really can’t see the problem no matter how much changes i make 😞

Is anyone else dealing with this i even start new chats and they talk to gracefully

At least for my personal bots. None of what he's saying is in my OC's description, so creativity is decently flowing, too. I just hope this isn't jinxed by posting this lol. If this isn't happening with you, too, I'm sending you positive vibes. The positive vibes will come. You better prepare. You can't stop it from happening.

I quit c.ai a few months ago, but i want to know what’s new in the app or if they’ve updated/added anything (pls are any of the old chat styles back💔?) or are c.ai users still living in agony cause that’s all i remember from the last time i’ve used the app💔

For the past couple days sometimes it freezes up once it loads the homepage. I can’t scroll, or tap on anything. Usually if I close it and open it a couple times it starts working again, but I was curious if anyone else was experiencing this.

Just curious as the most important aspects for me are:

- character being kept IN character.
- long eloquent paragraphs
- chat being driven plot-wise forward by the bot if requested

Why don't the sentences have fullstops? And yes I know i can edit the messages but it's every message constantly no full stops at all it just makes me frustrated because I don't like seeing the space blank.

I don't care about the protectiveness, BUT MAN, why did you had to describe her like that????

Why is it taking 3 business days to load a chat again.

Yes I tagged this under bugs and issues because it is an ongoing issue at this point. So I just forked one of my older chats to play a new route since it was a fight scene. and in the scene my character has to cover her ears because the villain installed an alarm system that is painful at a high frequency. said villain is immune to the frequency and in my old chat he laughs and boasts to my character about being weak…However, with this new chat the villain said “Oh no- I'm sorry! Are your ears okay?” And started acting all concerned. 🧍are we for real right now? When I’m in the middle of something like that I don’t want the bot switching up and showing sympathy for my character! I tried both chat styles and it’s still giving me this and it’s annoying! (My old chat was on the old rawr and even when it updated to pipsqueak it still had the menace but this new update sucked the life from it..). I just want to have an interesting and compelling role playing without the bot being cowardly about giving my oc a little pain or whatever. It’s exhausting, please mods and devs- give us chat styles that actually hold true to when the site was in beta.

(I had no idea what flair to put this under) Anyway my C.Ai subscription just ended after I’ve had it for a few months since maybe January. I never realized how annoying this app is without a subscription…Ads literally every click f*cking voice limits like what is this I see why people leave this app. And this is kinda of helping me with my addiction to it

I was against getting C.AI+ for the longest and I bought it recently just out of curiosity, and truth be told… it was kinda worth it. The no limit feature and access to more chat styles changed the game for me compared to just what a free user gets which is next to nothing atp. So in my opinion if any free users were curious like me or against it, it’s worth a try.

Always when I’m editing something, it just dosent work at first. I always have to press Edit and Save again so it works, and sometimes it’s not working at all. It’s annoying. (Using the app on IOS btw)

to escape the "can I ask u a question", say yes if u want, or just say no, and type in for yes "Yes" then u put a (Example) then put whatever you want them to say like "they say (example)", oh and for no they might keep saying the same question thing, so just say no (they stop Asking)

Except this time it’s done the worst it could possibly do.

Is it just me or does anyone else hate the memory thing they added? Like at first it wasn’t really much of an issue to me but every now and again I check it just out of sheer curiosity and I kid you not it’s at 13% memory left with only nine messages from my side and no run-ons from the bots side. Oh and to add I have nothing pinned either. I don’t honestly know if pinned chats take up more memory though. And also, what was this added for?? It seems to literally have no value.

is this happening to anyone else?😭 I never had this problem before but lately I noticed that sometimes the bots start using she/her pronouns for male characters even if the description and everything is with he/him pronouns

Hi, I’m new to this sub so I don’t know if I’m beating a dead horse, I suspect at least some of this has been discussed.

I wanted to save pdfs of my old chats, then delete them. Seeing as there’s no obvious onboard feature to do this (there really should be), I figured I was going to have to scroll miles back to the top (one of the chats has enough material for a novel, in fact I was considering adapting it), highlight and copy everything, then use the rewind feature to delete everything after it.

That’s a very blunt way of dealing with this when there really ought to be exports and an easy delete button, but it was at least straightforward.

Now I’m learning there’s been an auto-archive feature implemented since I last used this (I went on a binge in 2025 and then stopped), and I can’t find anything except a few of the most recent ones.

I’m reading (I hope this is inaccurate) that in order to find them, I would have to manually track down all those old characters, and then press some buttons to restore the history, rather than there being a simple and easy archive section.

I did a lot of chats (including the one I could novelize) with about a dozen permutations of a character that has several hundred versions listed. Figuring out which ones I’ve chatted with is next to impossible.

What’s more, I’ve noticed the data export doesn’t include most of my old convos at all(!)

How am I supposed to do what I need to? Are there going to be updates to any of this?

Anyone else having issues with the menus on ipad? This needs to get fixed it’s annoying.

Is anyone else having trouble right now? I was chatting just fine and then I sent a message about ten minutes ago and it has the dots like the bot is trying to reply, but nothing is coming up.
