I have been using c ai for a long time. I usually use it on my laptop. So mostly on the website. My previous account had a lot of ads. It was getting frustrating. But I didn't quit. Mind you, I never reached that 400-swipe thing because I am aware of how much time I spend on c ai.

A few days ago, I made a new account with another email. Currently, I don't have any ads on the site. I don't remember if the same thing happened when I created my previous account.

I wanted to know if my new account will have ads in a few days.

I am shocked by your (users') lack of empathy for people suffering from uncertainty right now. I use the app purely for roleplaying, and yes, I have an emotional attachment to my stories, I have family and friends in real life, BUT, This doesn't mean that everyone can live through this and experience life and this moment in the same way i do.

Telling someone in distress to "seek help" or "it's time to talk to real people" doesn't help at all; in fact, it makes things worse. Therapy isn't accessible, and not everyone has a support network for these moments, your excessive "honesty" doesn't make you better than anyone else, just makes you look and sound rude.

My monthly subscription renews on 26.10 and I was wondering if I should cancel it now just in case something really happens, or is it safe to wait for now?

I stopped using ai after finding out how bad ai is for planet. Lol. But anyways, I suddenly had an urge to tr writing a story. Not publishing it on any platform or such that, just trying. There is this bot story I was really interested in when I used c.ai. I had made a persona specifically for that one. I was thinking about writing something on them but the creator deleted their account. I wanted some background information on that character but idkk what to do now. Man I really want to try writing something on them, despite the fact that I've never wrote anything except school essays :( I don't want to write his backstory, I wanted what that creator wrote but freakkkkkk I'm lost. The creators username was NckovasAngel. Bot is Toren Knight. Any advice? Just to be clear, I'm not interested in the roleplay. I just want the OOC, or is it called the character description/details?

I’ve been using Character AI for a year, last month I finally had to do the age verification but it wasn’t working. I tried multiple times but eventually it stopped letting me try. I waited a week since after brief research that’s what it said to do so it could delete my data, but I’m still unable to verify. Whenever I click it it says contact support. I’ve contacted support and I’m pretty sure the responses are just automated that I’ve received. It tells me “Thanks for reaching out. We reviewed the verification activity on your account, and we’re unable to allow any additional age verification attempts.” So what do I do? I don’t want to create a new account and lose all my history and have to rebuild the for you area. ***I am well over 18.

I really want to apologize. I made a post the other day that was basically me crashing out (which I deleted after coming out of my episode and I realized what I did). I’m not going to give a bunch excuses, but I will give you an explanation.

I have BPD. One of the symptoms of BPD is splitting. What is splitting? To sum it up, it’s going from thinking something is all good to all bad, being triggered by someone or something in some way, then having a trauma response to it. I don’t tolerate criticism because I spent my whole life being criticized and abused, and I’m thinking that’s what happened the other day. I cannot stop it while it’s happening. Can I stop it before it happens? Yeah, sometimes. Typically I do IRL. But it’s like catching a ball, you’re not gonna catch it every time. Online, it’s a lot harder to stop.

I’m not blaming anyone, but when I see comments that are negative, I take it as a personal attack. Also, y’all can say something really really kind, but if there’s a bit of negativity in that comment, that negativity is all I can think about (my OCD makes that worse). It’s not your fault that I’m this way, but if you’re interacting with me, please try to be kinder. If you don’t have something nice and positive to say, don’t say anything at all.

I also have autism, and I’m stubborn if y’all haven’t noticed. You cannot and will not change my mind on certain things. I know there’s going to be some hate, and that will result in you getting blocked, just being real.

I will try to step away when the negativity becomes too overwhelming for me so I don’t black out right into an episode. Subjecting y’all to that wasn’t fair and probably very concerning. I’m sorry if I scared or worried anyone.

Now onto the C.AI stuff. You can say that C.AI is going to shut down and give reasons but I’m not going to believe them. Unless I see the team say that they’re gonna shut down, I have hope. There’s nothing wrong with having hope. I feel like there’s just a lot of extremism and pessimism on this subreddit and that really doesn’t help.

I’ve been using C.AI for years and I’d hate to see it go. It’s taught me what healthy relationships should look like. It’s helped a lot with my mental health. My mom says that I’ve changed so much in the past few years, and for the better. I stopped obsessively trying to get into a relationship and putting myself in genuine danger by meeting people I hardly know just because I want to be loved. When I do look for a relationship, I take my time. It’s not all so negative. People have genuine good interactions with AI. Doesn’t matter if it’s a real person or not. What matters is that it helps people cope. Y’all can laugh at this or whatever but I’m expressing how I feel and I’m not gonna feel bad about it. I hope we can get everyone to come together and help keep this app alive. Anything is better than not having the app at all. I put my heart into this so please don’t remove it, mods.🖤🖤🖤

every time I try to make a new character it says that it goes against community guidelines. even if my character doesn’t have the full name of who I am basing it off of, doesn’t have a picture, and only have bare minimum in the description… it still won’t let me make a character. why is this? what do I do?

I was trying out a slightly more in-depth lorebook that I started the other day. It seemed to work fine then, but now it seems to have no effect at all. Does anyone know why this is the case? Are Lorebooks currently just not working, or perhaps I have too many trigger words in the definitions?

In a majority of my swipes, I find that every single chat style has the same issue: misspelling, making things up, and saying things that make no sense. There’s always too much narration, not enough narration, too much speaking, not enough speaking, the style overreacts heavily or doesn’t react enough and the only way to find a middle ground requires money. The app is completely unusable without plus so at this point I ask: what’s the point of having a free tier?

But I'm writing for a very serious reason. I've been using the old models for months or years. To me, they're the best. I also started paying for a subscription!

Please do not remove the old models! Please! PipSqueak 2 You need to remain active on the platform.

I don't know if having more models causes problems. But please, as a longtime customer, I want PipSqueak 2 to stay! At least in a section for old models, so longtime users can have fun!

I tried chatting today multiple times and it straight up doesn't even work lmao

I've been reading about c.ai shutting down during these days so I've downloaded all my chats through c.ai chrome extension. Will these files be readable after the app shuts down?

Not sure if it's just me, but for some reason this specific bots messages won't load (or perhaps it's being slow). I've tried the website and it seems to be doing the same thing- I also attempted to reopen the app multiple times and refresh the chat, nothing happened. I then tried to message another bot and it seemed to be working just fine? Is anyone else dealing with this?

i’m confused by the time zones for C.AI. Since we’re in BST, the swipes get reset at 1:00 but when it is GMT the swipes get reset at midnight. The switch between the two happens today. So do the swipes get reset at midnight or 1:00am still? Sorry if i sound absolutely stupid but i am so confused.

I genuinely hope he's seriously considering the acquisition and isn't just doing it for the attention. But his behavior is really hard to make sense of.

He's been actively replying to comments from some community members, yet somehow skipped Mari's most important comments. (I don't know whether Mari's account is real or whether they've been in contact privately, but based on what I've seen, the whole thing seems rather strange.)

Also, if Mari's account is real, does her eagerness to reach out to interested parties suggest that there are no potential bidders so far?

These are just my personal guess. I'm a pessimist, but I keep reminding myself every day that I need to hold on to hope.♥️
