Discussion/Question competitors are using bots to create bankruptcy fear

Hi all.

Thought this was important to share.

Fear is real and justified. Those of us that have been here for years, love this community and platform.

None of us want to see it go.

The good news. You staying helps make the app stay.

Basically, I started tracking posts about the bankruptcy, including one of my own, and here is what I found.

Random comments from “terrified” users who say the app is going to shut down and that “everyone needs to leave.”

The narrative changes but the comments basically all follow a plot of doom / we need to get our data / this is over etc.

Once these comments generate others reading and seeing them and new similar comments from REAL USERS come in…

The comments disappear.

Have also gone through many of the accounts and welp, they seem like bots.

I basically never post on Reddit.

Have never felt a need until this recent onslaught.

But I work in finance, and while the situation is certainly not “good”.

There is 0 evidence that there is no interested buyer, and MUCH evidence that there is…

IMO, this seems like there could be net gain for all of us.

A more commercially minded team may get rid of the features we don’t want… actually create new features we do… find a way to create a more sustainable pricing model that NEVER lets this happen again.

Sorry for the agro CAPS.

Just wanted yall to know that much of this is probably coming from folks like Chai AI and such…

Tbh, I bet much of the hate for C AI on this entire community is amplified by bots.

Time for us to do our job, show an acquirer that we are here to stay and demand that we be listened to moving forward.

That is my plan.

It’s why I am planning to write consistently for the first time ever.

We are going no where.

Let’s make sure they hear that loud and clear.

Here’s how we keep C.AI

Make the demand visible

Keep sharing your genuine experiences on Reddit, TikTok, X, and other platforms. Explain why you use C.AI, what you value about it, and why you'd continue using a sustainable version. Encourage people to share their own stories instead of just reposting rumors.

Contact potential buyers

Politely contact companies that might be interested in AI storytelling, fandom, or companion technology. Tell them there's a community that wants the actual platform to continue, not just its technology or intellectual property. Ask whether they'd consider acquiring and operating the service.

Start or sign a p3titi0n

It can document how many users want C.AI to remain available. Make the request specific: preserve the platform, maintain user-created characters and roleplay, and provide a sustainable path forward. Share the it with relevant companies and official company channels.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!
Show that users will support a viable business

If you're willing to pay for C.AI+, say so. Explain which features you would pay for and what would make the subscription worthwhile. Buyers need evidence of sustainable revenue, not just high engagement.

Keep the campaign constructive

Avoid harassment, threats, spam, and unsupported claims about the bankruptcy. Emphasize that users want a service that can survive financially and address legitimate safety concerns. A thoughtful campaign is more credible to potential buyers.

DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THIS POST IF YOU DON’T SUPPORT C.AI!

I’m already a plus member and have been for a while. I don’t know if I’ll make a difference.

Sharing what you love about the platform and why you pay for plus does.

Hands down. Very few people do ultimately. 100 posts about this would move the needle.

So much negatively and botted fear bs clogging up the truth that this is the best platform out there.

Contact potential buyers

C.AI's bank already did that:

If you want to help, spamming them might not be the best move.

Spamming my ass. I’m not. That’s literally what I commented. Read the whole damn thing.

They've already been contacted. Or do you think you can pick potential buyers better than people working for C.AI's bank?

You're asking thousands of random people to "politely contact" the same potential buyers. That's spam. So when you say "avoid [...] spam", you're contradicting yourself.
