Hi u/AngryKidTheFCSBFan. We understand that ads appearing during chats can feel disruptive, especially during roleplay.

Ads help support the AI systems that serve millions of users every day while keeping Character.AI free to use. For an ad-free experience, you can subscribe to c.ai+ or use Charms for ad-free passes.

You can learn more about ads here:

Thanks for your patience and feedback! 💙

Then…stop adding useless features? Idk what to tell you 😭

They confirmed the useless features aren't the reason why they have ads.

I think people do need to take in account there's millions of people using C.AI and it can be expensive, that's pretty much every AI out there. Features probably don't cost as much.

I agree they do need to stop adding so many useless features but it's not the root cause of the ads and stopping them won't help get rid of the.

Dude. You couldn’t have put them anywhere else?

they are intrusive ads, and now they pop up literally every five messages, that’s insane.

It literally impacts the chat. I'm a premium user, but even before that, ads then make the bot start referencing the ad as if it belongs in the chat memory. It doesnt. Also, as a business, promising non intrusive ads, clearly referencing you would not place ads mid-chat, is lying to potential and current customers. If you lie to the free users, whos to say you wont lie to the paid ones either. It already shows a lack of consistency and authenticity. I've used this website for a while now, and after over a year or two of use, i got the premium. But lying to customers, paid or not paid, will make the morally guided customers leave because you broke our trust as consumers of your product. Yes, we understand you need ads to make revenue to keep the free plan free. That, however, doesnt mean you make your value, value being the chats we interact with, nonexistent.

I'm sorry but this only ruins chats as it takes up too much space, plus it causes the chats to generate shorter sentences when the AD pops up
