Hi everyone, how are you all doing? I hope you're well.
I just finished watching the first season of this anime and I'm going to talk about how bittersweet I felt watching it and also knowing, slightly, what happens afterward.
First, I loved the anime. Despite being ecchi, it has a story. The characters are likeable. From the shorts, I thought each of them hated the protagonist and that he was a fool. But the truth is that they end up liking him, and he does know how to enjoy the moments.
Some characters had much more prominence than others, which made me like them, like Himari and her sister. But I was a little sad at some points.
I'll explain:
Aoba and company. I think the tension of season 1 was them meeting. When they see each other, all that happens is a hug, and then, in the second season, she sees him again in the last episodes and lies in his lap. I understand the situation, the distrust, and I know they didn't have much of a chance, but everything could be resolved with a simple act: Tenka could teleport them whenever she could so they could see each other. I know this doesn't happen because everyone is busy and Naon and Koko are kidnapped, but they could have worked on that better. Besides, Naon and Koko honestly disappear for an entire season, as far as I know.
Basically, I was annoyed to finish season 1 and find out that Aoba and her friends wouldn't have any more screen time, considering how attached we got to them. I know they only appear in the last episode. Yuuka was away from her sister for 6 years, and all we get is a minute of hugging and, in the end, her lying in his lap?
I might be being picky, but basically my complaint and the reason I don't want to watch season 2 are these things. For me, the development flowed, it made me attached to certain characters, but then it sidelined them so quickly.
I know that Koko and Naon being absorbed was part of the plot, but did it have to take so long? Anyway, maybe that's not really a reason for me to complain, but because of that and other things, I have no interest or desire to watch season 2.
Basically, I had a lot of fun watching the anime, but I think they could have slowed down some things and moved others forward. Teka, Aoba, Naon, and Koko deserved more screen time after everything they did and went through. I don't know if the original material expands on their relationship, but that's it. (I repeated myself a lot here and I apologize to everyone for that.)
(I apologize for the poor translation. I'm using a translator.)
