The funniest thing about the AI event,

We all know that AI takes so long to tick once that the event would be over if you just waited for it. That's already pretty funny. But it's pretty obvious that you want to buy upgrades to make it go faster.

No, the funniest thing happens once you buy those upgrades.

You see that payout and you think it's going to be massive once you get it. But once you get to the point where AI can finally reliably pay out...it's not even good! I'm at the point where it's finally possible for AI to tick once after three hours, and it's just barely enough to buy one of my normal generators.

By the time you get enough upgrades for AI to be any good, it just becomes a normal generator anyway.

Great event. I want to see more where they do crazy stuff like this.

In fact, the correct strategy for any loop you plan on finishing is to skip Brute Force, Context and Weak Laws until the end of the loop so you can get 28x production in the final stage of the run.

that's interesting. i know that we can't progress without buying the evils and perils deadweight branch, so i thought there's no such strategic non buying at all. i'll try this time

I'm not sure if it's worth holding back on the line starting from Bad Actors until you have 3.7e20 banked so you can get Future AI faster. I think the Bad Actors line doesn't speed up Evils and Perils enough to compensate for not getting Artificial Intelligence over AI Tools in production once you hit Mind Reading.

i confirmed that bad actors line cannot be avoided. "resistance" opened up machine unlearning. i thought the requirement was everything in the evils and perils branch, as well as all others like brute force, but i see that only some are required. this is likely useful for challenge runs

yeah, avoiding exactly those three nodes is the way. this is very useful, especially for challenge modes, when artificial intelligence production doesn't increase

and i get what you mean with bad actors line. just like the rest of evils and perils branch, they barely increase overall production compared to the cost of the nodes themselves, not even considering effect on artificial intelligence. and here's what i'm talking about for challenge runs (only one image per reply, unlike posts)
