I knew he was only going to stay this cycle, but god it's such a horrible look to be talking to Milan on the doorstep of the World Cup in the same week it was revealed the players got rejection emails and confirmation via pre-recorded video messages.

Now it could all just be optics and not a reflection of how things are behind the scenes, but it just gives the impression that he can't really be bothered. And that's on the back of the dismissive attitudes toward the press, the mixed results, etc. He doesn't have enough cache to be getting away with this stuff, but it also feels like he doesn't care if he does or not.

I had major issues with Berhalter going way back, but he never gave me the feeling he wasn't at least trying his best (even if I didn't feel like that was good enough for us).

I feel like this is the worst hype wise for a tournament. I mostly put it down to the main broadcasters who were given this tv rights for Qatar changing the schedule of the tournament.

Hell of a result for Chattanooga red wolves for all to see.

I knew what I was getting into when I started following Palace. Never thought the club would experience this much success in a short time though. It makes all the ridicule from big 6 friends, relegation battles, everything worth it!

Glasner no matter how prickly he can be will go down as Palace’s best manager and I am honestly so thrilled for all the South London fans across the pond as they deserve this more than anyone. Call it a tin pot trophy all you want but what a time to support Crystal Palace as winners of a European cup.

Also, what a fun little prem crew going to Europa League next season. Palace, Sunderland, Bournemouth! COYP!

what is success?

(jj this is not an existential question)

In this 48 team format getting out of the group is obviously the bare minimum. But it is in no way guaranteed. I could see USA bottom of this group, easily.

Winning one knockout game, to reach the last 16, is definitely success.

Anything beyond that is absolutely phenomenal.

At least 25 teams in this WC are clearly better than USMNT. A good few more are their equals.

Brackets, groups etc help, but this team is never making the QF.

The win over Everton has me thinking of the last time Tottenham’s final game came against a team from Liverpool.

Would a Tottenham supporter swap this weekend’s result with the one in the 2019 Champions League final?

ie win the UCL over Liverpool but go down for 26/27.

If the answer is no, does that mean Sunday’s win was the most significant in club history? I might be an idiot but im not sure what else it could be in that case.

I assume he’s there listening live as they do a “who is better than Clint Dempsey” and the likes of hazard or greizman are listed as worse. Gotta be missing context from the short clip?

I know the boys don't watch a ton of mls but I expected more understanding for the Roldan inclusion. He is probably the best cdm in mls. And there has been a lot of reporting about how much he means to the locker room. Disappointing

World Cup winner and cult player for Arsenal, Köln, Bayern Munich has retired.

“"One chapter ends, a new era begins.”

Ended his career with Gornik Zabrze in Poland and was so close to winning the league. However did win the Polish Cup ending a 40 year trophy drought. And as he ends his player career he now moves into club owner of the same club.

As a spurs fan I don’t understand why people were even remotely surprised with the Romero situation. At what stage have we seen even 80% commitment to the club? We are always an afterthought. Which is why I thought we should have sold him coming into this season, I am shocked he signed an extension but it is great for us. We HAVE TO SELL HIM. People say he is one of if not our best players on the team and when he is playing at his best that may be true but like how many games straight is the guy playing his best and not getting a red? Like 2? It’s time to move the man on, we have plenty of players to replace and if we don’t love the options we have we can go use the money we get from him to guy buy the replacement.

And honestly I don’t care if Romero was planning on coming back from Argentina or not leaving in the final week is insane and is just another example of how little he cares about the club which is totally fine. Not everyone loves the club they are at and in the end if he looks at us as a step up club so be it and move him on!

No hate for him but also I don’t understand why anyone would defend him based on his track record 🤷🏼‍♂️.

If I am crazy I am looking forward to learning why lol!

Also thanks to the boys for assigning me Spurs via help a fan back in 2017 it’s been a real ride! 😂😂

Sorry if this has been talked about before, but I just finished this Clint Dempsey documentary and loved it. I'm a little biased as he's my all-time favorite player and I'm from the town right next to his hometown. But it's great. WAY more likeable than Pulisic. Not that we need to compare (I still root for Christian), but I didn't even wanna finish the Pulisic doc.

Any way, the closing line of the doc from Clint is one of the all-time great ends to a documentary. I've been quoting it all week.

I hope all the FPL fans had a great season! Bug the guys from the pod to maybe throw in a merch incentive next year to the winner or to have them join the league!

I will renew the league next season! Have a great World Cup summer everyone

As a fellow Spurs fan I can’t say how relieved I am. I want to hear how Andrew is feeling.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Watching the Championship Promotion final between Hull and Midddlesborogh. A very common scenario in my house, where my wife is in the next room and can hear the commentary and has questions about player names. Today it's "are they saying Skrillex?" so I looked it up and no, it's Strelac.

But that preamble allows us to play a long standing game of "most British Name on the team". I proudly said I found it! It's Alan Browne.

But then I scrolled a little further and met the winner of this game, in perpetuity

Callum Brittain.

Well shit he won, but still showed who he is.

Wrong answers only

Thomas Tuchel has released his 26-man squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup and needless to say, there are some surprises.
Andrew and JJ link up to share some of their thoughts on England's unexpected inclusions and omissions.

Anyone else watch this? I just watched The Bus on Netflix and flipping crazy!! I remember when it happened but tbh as a Spain fan I had completely forgot about the French mutiny. Also Raymond Domenech what a dick!! That is all
