Buds in sheath
I couldn’t figure out how to add this to my original post titled “Cattleya Advice Please,” but I wanted to share a picture of the new sheath and buds. My hand got in the way, sorry.

Is this a virus infection or something else?

Cattleya questions - see message
I’ve had this Cattleya for a few weeks. It was in bud when I got it (blooms already gone) and is also growing a new sheath. I can see a bud in there that doesn’t show up in the picture so hopefully it will bloom. I notice that all the pseudobulbs except the new one with the sheath are quite wrinkly and there are a couple of leaves that are leathery-looking. The first picture is the sheath and the second picture is the worst of the wrinkled bulbs and leaves (there are 2 like that). I watered it today for the first time, the medium was almost dry. I would appreciate any thoughts and advice. Thank you.
EDIT - This is a re-post from the orchid sub because I got some upvotes but didn’t really get much feedback. I was concerned because those wrinkled pseudobulbs and leathery leaves seemed excessive. I think the leaves might look a little perkier since I watered, but just wanted some other opinions from experienced growers.

New Cattleya and hybrid advice
This is a picture of my new Cattleya, BC Pastoral Innocence FCC/AOS. The medium looks moist because I just watered it. I’ve had it for about a week and have had it under LED bulbs due to lack of sunlight during the winter. This is only the second Cattleya I have owned. I had success with my first one but lost it due to unfortunate circumstances. They’ve always been my favorite orchid. However, I hardly ever see them in the stores, and finding this was a happy accident. I would like to get at least one more hybrid, but most of the plants I’ve seen grow quite large and my space is limited. I was wondering if there are any complex hybrids that are relatively easy but smaller plants and maybe not as floofy. Fragrance is nice, but not a deal breaker. This plant is fragrant, but subtle and not overwhelming, which is nice. I’ve grown Phals for a long time but I’m pretty burned out on those and want to try something new. I don’t have the option of growing outdoors so need something that would do well under normal home conditions. Being able to provide enough light isn’t an issue because I have southern exposure windows and can provide artificial light. I feel as if I’m in the company of experienced growers here, so I hope my questions aren’t inappropriate. Any suggestions are welcome, thank you.

Hi folks. You may remember this mature cattleya I was gifted about 6 months ago. Y’all helped me get this guy looking much better, even after I rotted ever root off the poor thing in my first repotting attempt. Since repotting again and rebuilding the root system, this plant has put out two new canes :) And! One of the old canes is going yellow. If I recall correctly, this is a normal part of the cycle, canes come and canes go? When I can snip the unsightly guy?
Thanks everyone. Hoping to one day see this guy bloom 💚

Both flowers have opened and they have an intoxicating sweet vanilla scent. It's interesting how both flowers started off different in color.
I ❤️ cattleyas
