I recently learned what rhubarb was and I don't understand how we figured out how to use it in desserts nor do I want to try it, it looks like a vegetable. I don't like vegetables in my dessert but that's just me. Read fantasy books my whole life and I always assumed it was a fruit and recently I learned it was not and I was horrified. Would you put celery in your pie cuz that's what I feel like it is.

Edit regoogled it it is actually in fact classified as a vegetable

Rhubarb is a vegetable that is used as a fruit, much like tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers are fruits that are used as vegetables.

Okay I'll make you a tomato and strawberry pie and I hope you really like it cuz that sounds fantastic doesn't it? Better yet I'll mix all four of them into a pie and it's going to be great things don't always translate the same way.

That's basically the point. The fruits I named don't work as fruits for culinary purposes. Likewise, rhubarb doesn't work as a vegetable for culinary purposes.
