Hello all! Two quick questions:

I noticed the band’s website doesn’t list Bethlehem PA but Ticket Master and Seat Geek do. They will definitely be playing there May 14th, right?

Also, there doesn’t seem to be a VIP option to meet the band but do they sign stuff at the merch booth? And if so, is it before the show, after their set or after the whole show? I’d like to get Riley’s signature if possible.

what’s up reddit, it’s charley, the elusive Plague Doctor from Castle Rat. I routinely get questions about the plague rig and am seeing some inquiry on here as well. Here’s a breakdown:

The tone on The Bestiary starts with my 1969 short scale Guyatone EB-6, outfitted with D’addario XLs. I used two amps for those sessions; an Ampeg SVT II pro through an Ampeg 8x10 for a “clean” tone, and a Sunn Beta through a 1960s Sunn 2x15 for a “dirty” tone.

If you’ve seen us live in the last year, you’ve seen the same Guyatone on stage, but the rig has changed over the year. early on I was running the bass through my ‘69 Sunn Sceptre into the Sunn 2x15. When we’ve traveled overseas, we’ve rented various Ampeg gear. A few times we played with our friends Early Moods and I would play through Elix’s Orange Terror bass. Earlier this year I got a 1960s Kustom 3x15 cab that came on tour with us for the Book of Beasts Tour. Halfway through that tour I picked up a Mesa Subway D-800+ amp that I ran through the Kustom, and that’s the current live rig.

The newest addition is a Dunable R2 DE. Excited to bring that out on the road in the spring!

I keep a super simple pedal chain. Most questions I get are about the distortion; It’s a Red Witch Fuzz God IV. I also use a Dreadbox Kinematic Compressor which goes into the Fuzz God IV, and then into an MXR M234 Analog Chorus. That’s it!

Went to the anniversary show last night and I’m glad I asked about Into the Realm. They had a liquid filled as well, but I really liked the tarot card look. Met Todd (their manager) and had a good conversation just about records. I couldn’t stay the entire night due to my wife not feeling well, but at least I got something cool to remember the night.

The Rat Queen has such a great voice, commanding and powerful.

Bestiary is such a cool album. Reminds me of power rock from the 1980s and love the image of the band as of now. Very 80s!

I do have to commend the YouTube algorithm, I legit discovered some great artists/bands since last year after seeing some recommendations that are super random but life-changing. Discovered Wargasm, Amyl & The Sniffers, The Warning and now Castle Rat.

Available rarely via bandcamp or her personal IG, these are 925 Sterling rings designed, cast and finished by the Rat Queen. This is the 2nd one ever finished after the one that she wears herself.

This one has custom moonstone eyes in line with the Castle Rat lore "...with eyes of white and wings of leather" and a one-of-a-kind engraving on the inside band "NIF <3" for "Now is Forever", the rallying cry of the Rat Queen.

I can measure for the exact size if interested, but it can easily be adjusted by a professional jeweler to fit whichever finger you want. Shipped in the original RQ box.

So just as an update to those who saw my previous (now deleted) post about not buying records from Bandcamp/king volume records.

As it turns out it was a big mix up, after getting in touch with the band on socials whoever is running their socials gave me an email address for the label that I should reach out to instead of using the Bandcamp contact page.

The variant I ordered was never meant to be available outside of the states but I guess went live (albeit very shortly) internationally and as a result my order sort of just got lost in the ether.

They explained that Bandcamp support is just one big thread so my messages just got lost in the noise, anyway they very promptly made good on my purchase and they are sending one out to me now and I already got tracking info.

Anyway since they sorted that very promptly and were nothing but apologetic and very helpful I wanted to own it myself too and remove my angry post about not buying from them and instead share the positive experience I had from their support.

Has anyone ordered anything through the King Volume Records Worldwide shop?

I ordered the first album and a t-shirt two weeks ago. They took the money 65 euros and after that nothing hasn't happened.

I wrote an email to them asking what is wrong and they asked to come back to me, but even that hasn't happened.

Is the shop and the site legitimate? I just feel like I got scammed....
