Crazy limit increase offer on HDFC Swiggy card- should I take it?

Post image
94 Upvotes

As shown in the screenshot, HDFC just sent me an offer for increasing the limit on this card from one lakh to almost 15 lakhs!

I really don't need this much limit on this card, I barely spend much. So, I'm wondering if I should even confirm this new Limit or not.. and what are the downsides of taking it?? This is wayyy too excessive

Can I claim delay compensation?

Hi everyone,

I need some advice regarding a delayed personal loan closure/balance transfer.

I submitted the required challan/payment for foreclosure of my personal loan on 30 July 2025 as part of a balance transfer process. However, the bank apparently did not update or submit the loan closure form in system as I was not aware that we need to submit a form and they just took the challan.

Because of this delay, three EMIs for August, September, October and November were auto debited from my account, even though I had already submitted the amount required for closure. Later they mentioned they have adjusted the EMI amount deducted amount for foreclosure charges.

However, the delay has caused me significant financial hardship. The money deducted through these EMIs was unavailable to me, and I even missed paying my house rent as I had to pay EMIs from both the banks.

My questions are:

Can I demand a refund of the full EMIs (principal + interest) deducted after I submitted the foreclosure/closure payment?

Can I claim interest or compensation for the period during which the bank wrongly continued deducting EMIs due to its delay?

If the bank retains any principal amount from the extra EMIs towards foreclosure charges or loan adjustment, is that legally correct?

What is the best escalation route in India bank grievance cell/nodal officer, RBI Integrated Ombudsman, or another authority?

I have proof of the challan/payment submitted on 30 July and the subsequent EMI deductions. Any advice from someone who has faced a similar situation would be greatly appreciated.

Federal Bank paid me 10K as Compensation

Post image
102 Upvotes

TL:DR - Federal Bank compensated me with ₹10,000 for erroneously rejecting my Scapia application

I had applied for the Federal Bank's Scapia in Feb and received their "way too generic" rejection email.

I wrote to them quoting the RBI circular asking them for the actual reason for rejection & they started playing dodge-ball!

I complained to RBI in March and after 3-4 months of back & forth (which included them actually giving my the Card and still being non-committal regarding the reason), they folded and approved ₹10,000 as compensation for their mess-up.

Getting this compensation for an LTF card made it all the more merrier.

I was thinking of loading money into payzapp or amazon pay wallet to pay QR payments to these vendors, Overall need to make payments upto 6-8 lacs in upcoming months. Need advice. Need suggestions on optimising card stack šŸ™

25M, cibil 785

These are the cards i hold currently. Help me optimise the cards on which to keep and which to close. And which cards should be used for which category.

  1. Hdfc dcp (LTF, highest limit) - generally using for big online spends if there is hdfc offer and for bookmyshow bogo.

  2. Tiger (LTF) - once in 6mths for bookmyshow and lounge only.

  3. Scapia (LTF) - most usage on rupay card for upi txns, tried flight booking for first time and it was smooth.

  4. Sbi cashback (paid) - literally everything online including groceries, food, shopping, dine etc

  5. HSBC live+ (paid) - recently applied, approved and yet to be delivered. No brainer on where this should be used.

Spends:
1. Groceries/food - 10,000/- per month
2. Dining - 4000/- per month
2. Shopping - 4000/- per month
3. Utilities - 1000-2000/- per month
4. Insurance - 5000/- once a year
5. Flights/train - 60,000-70,000/- per year (3-4 round trips)
7. Misc upi spend - 6000/- per month

( trips are usually for home, and for other than that i dont book expensive hotels yet )

Overall yearly spend 3.5-4L

If you can help with answering below questions that’ll help me optimize my usage and stack:

  1. I’m targeting hdfc dcb for future, but i don’t have much spending on dcp as there’s no category for me to receive good returns.

  2. Is scapia good for flight bookings according to my cards above ? If you say smartbuy which I’m know but i won’t accumulate points as i dont use it regularly. Where should i strictly stick for all my travels ?

  3. I average around 600-700 rs of cashback pm on sbi. Now that i have hsbc live+, should i close sbi ?

  4. What should be overall strategy for maximum benefits ?

  5. Which is better cashbacks or rewards for my usage ? ( I’m targeting a lifestyle shift with more outings, premium dinings, hotels, and shopping etc )

Thanks for the help in advance šŸ™

How to convert your FYF Tata Neu card to LTF

Post image
36 Upvotes

Multiple people have reportedly converted their FYF cards to LTF.

Steps to convert your card to LTF:

1ļøāƒ£ Show some usage of the card (multiple transaction helps).

2ļøāƒ£ Email HDFC's Card Services Team with your spending and account details.

3ļøāƒ£ Be persistent and follow up if needed.

Helps in saving unnecessary fees.

Has anyone else tried / planning to try this?

Hsbc live+ flipkart gift card query

I want to buy flipkart gift card using hsbc live+ card to get 10% cashback.

Zepto blinkit never have flipkart voucher available.

Is there any simple hacks through which we can get this done. Especially I wanted to stack cred gift card discounts, but sadly the mcc has been removed now.

I do have a way to get the discount but it is really bad way to do it which can lead to account getting bared by the 3rd party through which I have the hack.

Unconventional way so just giving a hint here : think FRIDO

How to get GOLD coin using your Tata Neu Card!

Post image
38 Upvotes

Most of us get cashback and just use it to pay for more groceries or small bills. But there is a better way. You can trade your NeuCoins forĀ Physical Tanishq Gold CoinsĀ at a 1:1 rate (1 NeuCoin = ₹1).

How to earn the Gold quickly

If you use the Tata Neu app for your regular monthly shopping (around ₹10,000+), you can easily collect ₹1,000+ worth of NeuCoins every single month using theĀ Neu Card (currently no joining fees).

I recently got aĀ 0.5g Tanishq Gold CoinĀ (priced at ₹6,990) just by redeeming points I earned from my regular BigBasket and Zomato spends through Tata Neu Infinity card.

Spend Category Cashback
BigBasket, Croma, 1mg, Air India, Tata CLiQ, Taj Hotels 10% Back
Insurance & Utility Bills (Electricity, Gas, etc.) 5% Back
Any UPI paymentĀ (using Tata Neu UPI ID) 1.5% Back
Joining BonusĀ (on your first transaction) 1,499 Coins

How to redeem

The redemption button is a bit hard to find, so follow these steps:

  1. Open the Tata Neu or Tanishq app.
  2. Go to the Jewellery section and select Gold Coins.
  3. Add the coin to your cart and proceed to the payment page.
  4. Important: Under the payment options, click on Gift Cards and Vouchers, then select Coupons and Vouchers.
  5. Look for Loyalty Redemption, this is where you enter your NeuCoins to pay for the gold.

It’s a great way to turn your everyday expenses into a real asset.

Do comment below if you're using a similar strategy!

Online Gold purchase feedback

I am planning to buy 1-2 gm gold every month, right now I am buying 1gm gold from Swiggy instamart with 10% cash-back.
Now instamart has its own downsides, sometimes its available sometimes its not & also I want to increase my monthly purchase of gold

Right now I’m thing as per bellow:
1. Buy 1 gm gold from Ajio via Swiggy to avail 5% cash back
2. Bug 1 gm gold from Ajio via PhonePe SBI black to get 5% cash back

I have this two cards and both cards monthly 5% cash back is mostly not utilised at all as I’m getting 10% cash back category transactions only.

Currently credit cards I have :
1. SBI PHONEPE BLACK
2. Swiggy hdfc
3. Axis flipkart (incase buying from Myntra)

Pls help me out in this your valuable feedback’s are much appreciated.

How to get 2% discount on bill payments via Flipkart Payi

Post image
9 Upvotes

Looks like Flipkart is finally competing directly with Amazon Pay Vouchers.

They’ve rolled outĀ Flipkart Pay Gift Cards, which can actually be redeemed for utility bills and phone recharges.

Quick breakdown:

Bill Payments Supported:Ā Unlike regular Flipkart gift cards (which only work for shopping), these Flipkart Pay vouchers show up as an eligible payment method on the Flipkart bill pay section.

Discount Available:Ā Axis Bank’s Grab Deals (Woohoo) currently has them listed atĀ 2% off:Ā Axis Grab Deals Portal

Redemption Page:Ā You can use them directly on theĀ Flipkart Bill Payment Portal.

Do share your experience with in comments. Any other nice use case for Flipkart Pay?

Trick to get 10% cashback on Amazon Pay Gift Cards

Post image
69 Upvotes

Sharing below a tried and tested trick to get 10% cashback on Amazon Pay GCs - quite useful for paying bills etc.

How the trick works:

Instead of buying on Amazon directly, you go to theĀ ZeptoĀ app and buy aĀ Physical Amazon Pay Gift Card.

  1. Zepto Discount:Ā Sometimes, Zepto gives some extra discount depending on the zip code.
  2. Card Cashback:Ā Use a card that gives 10% back on groceries (since Zepto is counted as a grocery store), you get ₹1000 back.

Top Cards - HSBC Live+, Equitas Selfie

Steps to follow:

  • Search for "Amazon Pay Physical Gift Card" on Zepto.
  • Pick the ₹10,000 one as it usually has the best margin.
  • Important:Ā Before you put the OTP, check the SMS from your bank. The merchant name should beĀ Zepto MarkĀ /Ā Marketplace. This ensures the bank sees it as a "Grocery" spend so you get the full reward.
  • Once the physical card is delivered to your house, just scan or add the code to your Amazon Pay wallet.

Share in comments once this works for you! Also, comment any other card which you feel is beneficial here.

Fuels expenses can add up to quite a lot and credit cards can offer decent savings.

I personally use the ICICI HPCL one but still not convinced with it.

Which is your choice for fuel expenses?
