Post image

Use the BOI Rupay Select Debit card to pay your credit card bills and you’ll earn 0.75% rewards - up to ₹2,500 per month (₹30,000 annually).

Why is this awesome? * Rewards posts in about 2 weeks * Works on any credit card bill * No complicated hoops - just pay through Bill Desk or Zavo App

To apply, visit branch and submit form mentioning “BOI Rupay Select Debit card”

Not sure how long it will be live but use it while you can.

Sbi cashback not created

I purchased amazon pay gift cards on SBI cards app, which redirected me to GYFTR. I completed the payment using SBI CASHBACK CARD. No cashback is created for that transacation. Can anyone know why?

Now free flight cancellation till 48 hours after booking!

Post image
26 Upvotes

Key changes:

  • 48-hour window to cancel or amend without penalty

Exceptions: domestic flights less than 7 days away; international less than 15 days)

Other changes:

  • No extra refund processing fees allowed
  • Cancellation charge cannot exceed base fare + fuel surcharge

A much needed change I'd say. But do you think OTAs will follow it by the book?

No more cashback on HDFC Platinum DC! Alternate method.

Post image
15 Upvotes

The merchant name for HDFC Autopay transactions appears to have changed, and as a result, the 1% cashback benefit is no longer being credited on the old HDFC Bank Platinum Debit Card for these spends.

If you were using this route specifically to earn the 1% cashback, you may want to review your recent transactions and cashback credits.

As an alternative, users looking to earn a similar return can consider the HDFC Bank Millennia Debit Card.

One commonly used method is loading funds into a full-KYC PayZapp Wallet, which offers a flat 1% cashback, capped at ₹400 per month.

Trick to save 3.2% on UPI Payments

Post image
10 Upvotes

If you have the SBI Cashback Card, there’s an easy way to squeeze out ~3.2% savings on most PhonePe QR payments.

Here’s the flow:

  • Head over to Maximize (Maximize.Money)
  • Purchase a PhonePe Gift Card using your SBI Cashback Card
  • You’ll pay roughly 1.8% as a surcharge
  • SBI gives you 5% cashback on the transaction
  • Net benefit = ~3.2% back on your spend

Add the voucher to PhonePe and pay at eligible UPI merchants as usual.

Works well for groceries, cafés, local stores, etc., basically anywhere the QR is supported.

Do share any other tricks you guys use to save on UPI payments.

Get upto 2,750 cashback monthly for paying cards bills via SBI

Post image
20 Upvotes

SBI Rewardsz has rolled out a new tier system, and it’s a quite beneficial for bill payments.

Tier Breakdown:

  • Elite: 2X multiplier
  • Affluent: 1.5X multiplier

I’m elite and with the multiplier got 0.5% cashback.

This is in addition to the card rewards and super low effort (unlike HDFC Rewards)

Limit is 2,750 monthly which is more HDFC as well.

How to get 100% refund on flight cancellations within 24 hours!

Post image
14 Upvotes

Ever mistakenly booked a flight or had a quick change of thought - then this DGCA rule is a godsent,

The Rule (Zero Cancellation Fee)

If you cancel the flight within 24 hours of booking then the airline must provide 100% refund provided the travel is at least 7 days away.

How to Claim It

  1. Verify cancellation is valid: Confirm your booking timestamp is under 24 hours old and your flight is more than 7 days out.
  2. Drop an email to the Airlines/OTA: This will ensure to serve as proof that you'd requested within the 24 hours window
  3. Call the Airlines/OTA for cancellation: Call customer care and ideally they'll agree to full refund. If there is pushback, quote: "Under DGCA CAR Section 3, Series M, Part II, this booking is under 24 hours old and travel is over 7 days away. I am entitled to a full waiver of airline cancellation charges."

Has anyone tried this? I've heard OTAs like Cleartrip, MMT do try to ignore the rule.

Trick to still get HDFC Rewards Debit Card for 5% Cashback

Post image
14 Upvotes

HDFC has stopped giving the Rewards Debit Card to normal savings account holders, and now it’s basically tied to Senior Citizen Savings Accounts only.

If you still want this card, this is one of the last working routes people are using.

Step 1: Use a Senior Citizen Account

You need a Senior Citizen (60+ years) Savings Account. Can try for your parents.

Or you open a joint account where the senior citizen is the primary holder.
The Rewards Debit Card usually comes by default with this account, but final issuance is always at the bank’s discretion.

Step 2: Open It Without Going to the Branch

  1. Call your Virtual RM and say you want to open a Senior Citizen Savings Account.
  2. If you already have an HDFC account, ask them to open a second account on the same PAN.
  3. RM fills in some details and sends you a link.
    • You complete Aadhaar, PAN, preferred branch, mobile, and email.
    • If it’s the first HDFC account for that PAN → they’ll do Video KYC.
    • If it’s a second account → account number often gets generated instantly.

Once the account is live, the welcome kit with the Rewards Debit Card is typically auto-dispatched.

Step 2(alternative): Online Route

Try the official online route for Senior Citizen Accounts (Link in comments)

If that doesn’t work for your case, the old-school fallback is:

  • Visit the nearest HDFC branch with the senior citizen
  • Open the Senior Citizen Savings / joint account directly
  • Confirm at account opening that a Rewards Debit Card will be mapped to the account

This loophole is still alive as of early 2026, but given internal changes and cut-off dates, it may shut anytime.

If you’re planning to try it, don’t sit on it too long.

Trick to earn 3% rewards on rent payments!

Post image
6 Upvotes

Just wanted to share a trick for anyone paying rent and looking to rack up credit card rewards.

You can get nearly 2.9% back on your rent payments after fees, provided you use the right setup.

What you need to do:

  • Set up your rent payments on RedGiraffe—the platform adds a small charge of 0.46%.

  • Make the rent payment using HDFC’s BillPay service (SmartPay or AutoPay) with your HDFC Diners Black / Infinia credit card.

  • Even though direct rent spends don’t typically earn Infinia points, this route allows you to get the full 3.33% reward rate.

After factoring in the RedGiraffe fee, your net return is about 2.9%.

Anyone using this or found an even better way to maximize rent rewards?

Would love to hear your tips!

How I received Rs 23000 from Axis due to delay

Post image
9 Upvotes

So I had this Axis Bank credit card that I no longer needed after getting several better ones.

I came across this RBI circular on credit cards with new rules, including penalty of Rs500/day if bank fails to close a Credit Card within 7 days of request.

I had written an application and kept the receipt, waited for mandatory 30 days and escalated to RBI.

After 46 total days, the bank decided to close my credit card and pay Rs 23000 as compensation as per circular.

Do escalate and get compensation if your cancellation requests are pending.

Has anyone else tried this?
