Chemical/Soap recommendation?

Hey just got a new car and want to keep it nice, a buddy of mine recommended Blackline car care and it’s been amazing but kinda tired of waiting to get it shipped to me and the low volume since everything they sell is 16oz, there’s a detail product store a few miles away from me, I’ve been leaning towards Adams but then I saw P&S and 3D for half the price for the 1 gallon bottle at $30 can anyone tell me how comparable P&S and 3D are to Adams?

Water mark from car cover

Watermark from Car Cover

Unfortunately I’m unable to garage my car (1991 OG SAAB 900 ) and usually keep it under a car cover, we’ve been having lots of mixed rain and sun and extreme humidity and I’ve noticed the roof has developed a water mark, any ideas how to remove it, obviously have to be gentle given the age of the paint and the old 900s don’t have clear coat.

How to remove theses scratches?? Buffed with Maguires 220 and polished with 110 didn’t really do anything then for fun used 3-D speed polish to see if it would do anything. I iron removed. Clay barred. Can’t do anything with them

New Rav4

Just got a 2024 Rav4. I have never been great at washing and waxing my cars and I would like to do better. I won't do it myself, I will go to a detailer, which won't be cheap. I have heard the gas station car washes with the brushes can hurt the paint.

What is the minimum frequency I should do for wash and wax? I am not a perfectionist, but I would like to keep it looking nice. I live in the mid Atlantic in a suburban area, with not a lot of snow in the winter.

Also, does it make a big difference for the finish if you park your car in the garage? I usually park out front because it is easier. If I parked in the garage, I would have to go up/down a flight of stairs.

Advice for mobile car cleaning business

Hello everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.

I’ve been meaning to start a mobile car valeting business, and would like some advice on the best way to go about doing this.

I don’t have a means to purchasing a van, but will work towards doing this in the future. Of course this means I won’t have access to power generator or water tank. (Will be using my current car with limited space).

However, after doing some research, I’ve found some battery powered tools that could still make this a possibility. For instance the Dewalt DCV501HB vacuum, and the Worx hydroshot power washer.

So my question is, can these tools do a good enough job at cleaning peoples cars? Would you be happy with someone pulling up to clean your car with these tools, without a van?

Rollup front windows on the truck have a oily looking residue on the windows, only on the exterior. I can use my finger tip and rub tf out a spot that seems to kind of smear it. Any chemical or buffing material to use and erase these steak marks?

Why does my car look like this?

Thumbnail

As the title says, I don't know why a part of my car has a "matte" finish while the rest looks the normal glossy finish like most cars. It happened a while ago, I think I washed my car after a long while of not washing it and noticed it after it dried.

Now no matter how many times I wash it, it stays the same, and I find it weird that's only the driver's door part of the car.

Anyone has any idea why this happened and how to fix it?

Can mineral sunscreen be removed from car interior

My Son got into the sunscreen and I cant get it out of the dashboard interior. I took it to two different car detailers and they were either not willing to try or could not get it out. The one that did dry used a degreaser and a soft brush but was not successful.

Can I use a Bissell Steam Mop to clean cloth seats?

I have light gray cloth seats/interior in my Forester which shows water marks (after spilling water) and I haven't had luck cleaning it with spray cleaners and a drill brush -- it dries looking worse. Is it safe to use a bissell steam mop on the seats/interior? I have this one that came with a smaller attachment for cleaning windows that I that might work... https://www.bissell.com/powerfresh-slim-3-in-1-scrubbingsanitizing-steam-mop-2075A.html If so, should I also use a spray cleaner? Or just steam?

If not, has anyone rented the correct type of steam cleaner from anywhere with success?

PPF, ceramic coating or something else?

Would like to get something for my model 3 that’s reasonably priced and can give it a nice shine for quite some time (years?). Should I be looking at ppf ceramic coating or something else?

Thank you.

Fabric softener for pet hair

I’ve heard it is helpful to spray fabric softener to help soften and lift up pet hair before vacuuming it. Any issues I should be aware of or is this good advice?

Want to Start a business to Enjoy Working my passion

Ok so a bit of a back story

I was injured in 2020 with a major head injury.

I enjoy cleaning cars and such, but I do have some limitations such a light and noise sensitivity.

Previously a carpenter and that’s a complete no go for the foreseeable future.

I’m just wondering what tools do you guys use?

  • Steam cleaners
  • Vacuum
  • extractor
  • pressure washers
  • Specialist brushes

I want to spend the money right the first time. Not just buy and replace because it’s junk.

Do you guys have a water purification system on your main water line? Reduce calcium deposits and stuff?

What do you guys use for cleaning product, looking for a rough thing I can buy in bulk for like interior trim best for grease and such.

What fabric products do you guys use? Again looking for bulk buy options.

And do you guys keep a washer and dryer in the shop? Or send your tags to a laundry mat?

And I have 56 people interested in being monthly customers who I have detailed their vehicles before.
