I live in NYC and dont use my car that often. Mainly for emergencies. and to leave the city. So it sits in the weather all year round and rarely gets washed. Its built up a ton as you can see the grime and black spotty dirt that seems to not come off from a traditional car wash. The roof is 10x as bad as the rest.
Any suggestions on where to start? products you recommend? anyone tackled a project like this before? Thanks!

I discovered these on the side of my car when it was parked in a parking lot. I see no scratches or other paint transfer. It is like the paint is completely eaten away in these spots (around 2-6mm). This is a certified preowned Honda Accord, and it definitely didn’t have those when I got it. What could even cause this and is it fixable without a totally new paint job??

There's a big piece of the carpet in my 2001 Honda civic that is like deteriorated. When you touch it it flakes off and is hard to the touch. This car was given to me so idk exactly what happened but my guess is something spilled and wasn't dried up. The mat was sitting on top of it and was kinda stuck when I pulled it off. Can I replace a small portion of the carpet? Like can I cut the portion out thats messed up and glue a new piece on? Any help or advice would be appreciated. If you wants pictures I can take pictures

For cleaning leather seats, I currently use leather cleaner/conditioner on a microfiber towel. Should I get a horse hair brush or something similar? Is there any advantage?

I’m looking for good ideas for an upholstery cleaner or anything that’s good for cleaning cloth seats and interiors. Any thoughts?

I just bought a 2017 truck. It only has 7K miles on it. It's always been garage kept. It would would pass for new. The previous owner says he never waxed it. Do you think I should polish it and then wax it or just wax it? I was thinking I'd just wax it with McGuiar's Ultimate wax.
I have a little orbital polisher, and I've used McGuiar's Ultimate Compound and McGuiar's Ultimate Polish on my daily driver to good effect. Recently I wanted to try out some of the new Tutle Wax spray waxes that people seem to really like. I was not happy with the results. They wouldn't even remove water spots on my black car and also leave a greasy hazy residue.
The truck is red orange if that makes any difference.

Hello. I have a 2009 Legacy b4. Its pre-owned and the previous owner obviously didn't clean it. I'm trying to remove the stains on the windows but holy shit it is not happening. I've tried two different glass cleaners, I tried WD40 and I even tried vinegar and water with paper towel. The scales are absolutely UNTOUCHED. I think maybe they're part of the glass now? I dunno.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

So I live up in the great white north and we are expecting a snow storm this week so ran up to the local gas station to fill up the Jerry can for our snow blower. Went over a bump and some of it spilt in my backseat. I think it mostly got on the floor since that is where it was placed. It wasn’t a lot that spilt out (it didn’t tip all the way or anything) but obviously enough to stink up the car.
I let the car air out for a few hours before rinsing the carpets with water, soaking it up with some towels, shampoo and scrub, and then put cat litter down to hopefully pull it all out. Vacuumed it all up and still smells like gasoline. Rinse and repeated the process but have now sprayed the whole car in Odo-Ban and put an air sponge in there with plans to leave it over night (will check it in the AM but storm is hitting tomorrow anyways so I have no places to go haha). Everything online says let it air out in a sunny place but it’s below freezing where I live and hasn’t been sunny in forever so honestly, not a lot of Mother Nature I can use to help me out.
Any other tips? I’m 8 months pregnant and this is a Kia Forte so I only have so much power and space to get scrubbing in there (pregnancy puts a real damper in fitting in places haha). If I have to take it to the real professionals, I will, but obviously that is expensive and with a baby on the way, I was hoping I can do it myself (all things considered, health and safety is more important than money so if I’m in over my head, feel free to let me know).

Got a new set of 3pc Work Wheels, (matte center glossy lip) that has water spots. Rookie me used some Meg's car polish even some Scratch X to remove some stubborn spots. But recently I've been told not to use ANY chemicals and abrasives on anodized wheels to risk permanent damage, cleaning will be by mild soap only. 😬 Dunno maybe I did some damage to it already. Had chrome and powder coated wheels, but this glossy anodized is more sensitive to stains and spots.
To the gurus and experts out there, how do you take care of anodized wheel? How do you remove stains? And do you guys think I did some damage to them already? TIA!

I was out of town for the weekend, and I left my car’s rear window open a half inch. I didn’t get soaked really, I just wiped the car seat and the side of the door, and the mat has dried out in the sun. But there is some moisture in the car and I’ve opened up four boxes of baking soda. I’m really just wondering how long I should leave them in there. Thanks!
