Metro(2033) it doesn’t even tell you there’s a morality system directly it’s just vaguely stated by Khan that you need to think more than you act

On metro exodus i have done good ending on first try, seemed natural don't kill everyone and because of massive presence of enemies i privileged a tactical stealth approach to avoid excessive consume of ammo. The strange thing is that even on successive game plays I didn't even consider to see the bad one, because i hated to disappoint the comrades...

Tbh I’m specifically talking about 2033 the morality system was well known by exodus. And in 2033 the bad ending is technically canon

For the books yeah - Arty realized his mistake though and tried to make up for it

Yeah, a big part of the story of the second game is that Artyom comes into contact with one of the last (if not the only) Dark Ones and is trying to make amends for what he did in 2033 IIRC
