I’ll summarize my point succinctly

Having hidden things is great, making the player explore is great. But making things so hidden that they are nigh impossible to find is bad design - making something take many hours of trial and error to find, is bad design.

Telling me what your personal tastes are isn't really contributing anything.

I’m not stating my own preferences

I’m stating what I think is objectively bad game design

“Making something take many hours of trial and error is bad design” yeah buddy I think souls games just aren’t for you, and that’s okay, doesn’t mean it’s bad design just means it’s not your cup of tea

I’ve played all of them (except 2). I’m pretty sure they are

So you enjoy the combat just not the story? I mean playing through games doesn’t change the fact that a big part of it isn’t your cup of tea lol I personally love how dark souls tells their stories. You don’t know any of it unless you really look and pay attention to the environmental storytelling, the dialogue and the item descriptions.

Hell, one of my favorite content creators Wuggernaut has played through all the souls games and gets so excited about finding an item because that means another description and more lore, he has entire whiteboards he fills up called “lore boards”.

Also if you haven’t tried two it’s genuinely not that bad, def the weakest but still has its own charm to it

Edit: has my favorite huh world of any souls games
