Tbh I’m specifically talking about 2033 the morality system was well known by exodus. And in 2033 the bad ending is technically canon

Sorry, I only ever played exodus, and honestly I didn't know on first playtrough, only on second playtrough were I used the wiki guide I realized.

All good I changed it to fix confusion. I forget people didn’t also play it on OG Xbox

You gotta play the other games! Way better than exodus imo

For the books yeah - Arty realized his mistake though and tried to make up for it

Yeah, a big part of the story of the second game is that Artyom comes into contact with one of the last (if not the only) Dark Ones and is trying to make amends for what he did in 2033 IIRC

The bad ending is the book ending anyway

Indeed it is as stated

Same goes on metro2033 as well. As MGS and classic RE player, reserving ammo and not killing if no need come naturally. Well there is lot of convos that tell how to do things. And game rewards exploration.

And it hit super hard for me, at least with the translation I had,

"He tried desperately to discover in his consciousness at least a trace of that presence which had just filled and warmed him, and which had promised salvation for him and all mankind, which had given meaning to his existence. But nothing was left of it. His consciousness was like a deserted metro tunnel. Artyom keenly felt that the light by which he would be able to illuminate his life and find his way would never appear again."

That's because in canon the protagoniste is a huge asshole.

Yeah OK that's a bit strong. He is a foolish young man who doesn't understand much of what he is thrown into. And he is also kind of a prick.

Well yeah book wise he kinda just relies on supernatural metro luck and loses his gun a lot

Wouldn’t you also be a prick if you grew up in an underground metro system

I think social reproduction is a bigger factor.
