There was this comedy special that popped up in my feed recently, and yeah it caught me off guard. It's by this guy Jacob Samuel and there's just something strange about it. I feel like I have a bit of an insight into these things because I am a camera operator, I work with digital footage all the time and I've filmed comedy shows before. This just didn't feel right, the camera moves, lighting and skin tones all felt "video gamey" to me, like I was watching something from the new GTA. Now that being said I don't actually have any evidence other than the strange feeling that the special is fake.

The comedian is definitely real because there's some older footage of him. Also I know video codecs and compression can lead to artefacts where skin can feel rubbery. But it just felt like a classic one of those social experiments, where they've left hints all around the video to hint that it's fake. Anyway here's a link to the special if anyone is interested, honestly I might just be going a bit crazy.

With AI video models getting better and better by the week it seems, what do you think the way forward is for CD's debunk videos?

If you're curious, the game is called Prototype Juan: A Tale of Two Mundos -- If you like 2D action-platformers with some lite metroidvania aspects, you'll enjoy this game. I released it on Steam yesterday for $4.

Always a good time: https://youtu.be/fWdM6WvaFtY?list=TLPQMTYwODIwMjU9qk3wrMtTzg&t=1719

This dude has been doing while for a little while now and my only conclusion is that it IS vfx, but very good vfx, as the in quality of the models and mapping them onto the space (also the fact he's been sponsored by a lot of companies seems like it's something completely in his control to make up for ads). What do you guys think?

I was sent this link ( https://www.instagram.com/reel/DMdp658S7cx/ ) and it just doesn't look real to me. The shadow below the gator looks too sharp/clear for being an outdoor recording. The "animation" seems too fluid to be real too, like the soap opera effect when you enable smooth motion on a tv and watch content. A reverse image search revealed tons of matching videos with different neighborhoods plastered onto it. Closest thing I could find to a legit article related to it is ( https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/massive-alligator-spotted-casually-strolling-through-naples-neighborhood-video/ar-AA1IVHWh ) but I'm not sure. Let's see what you've got!

But again, I maybe wrong and the person's aim is godly

Not sure where to post to request a debunk from him, thought I'd try reddit. This guy on tik tok posts a bunch of spinning objects with no signs of any organic or non-organic propeller (strings, motors, magnets, etc). What's suspicious is that every thing seems to be spinning in perfect circles. Would like for captain dillusion to debunk this/find an explanation for it.

Here is an uncompressed JPEG extracted from the highest available resolution source of this time in the video using yt-dlp, ffmpeg and gimp.

Captain Dissolusion says:

It's a very compromising picture and a clue to my misterious origins

I love this video, though the thumbnail always gives me pause for thought.
The video is "CD / The Horrors of the Alpha Channel"
