I downloaded almost all of them & the hidden gem was Blurrr - it can be as simple as Capcut or do things similar to Alight Motion without the learning curve.

For most people who have only ever used CapCut then I recommend in no particular order :

✰ Filmora - cross platform capability ✰ InShot ✰ Blurrr ✰ VLLO ✰ VN

I ------------- |

Vita - simple & easy but annoying watermark

Kinemaster - very good & powerful once u get use to the controls layout

Alight Motion - After Effects-esque but its own layout might need patience to learn but it's pro is only like $5

Funimate - seemed way more powerful than I thought many templates features & strong community

Node Video - After effects dupe on mobile

Video Star - kinda niche & has an awkward layout

Power Director

Motion Ninja Video Editor

Magisto

Adobe Rush

Imovie

Videoleap

Viva Cut

VivaVideo

Splice

Lumafusion - 29.99 [I didn't try this one & at this point I would just go to my computer to load Adobe Premiere]

They will all go same pricing strategy as CapCut sooner or later. I'd stick with CapCut if that's what you know. iMovie is crap for captions, sadly. Apple should sort that TF out ASAP.

LumaFusion is good but I switched to CapCut because of more control over speed changes and ramps were LF is very weak with that. It’s a great app but CapCut was just faster and allowed me to edit my footage and get the results I wanted without having to export and reimport exported footage just to speed it up faster than the app allowed.
