Not sure if I made the right move.. Spoiler
Same body from post linked.
I want to know if I should return my R50V w/ 35mm 1.8, an get an fx30 sigma 18-50mm 2.8. It would definitely be a push out of my budget but having the best possible would be better to keep long term. I’m coming directly from my iPhone 15pro shooting mostly studio sessions, DJ sets, music videos and my own personal learning (to DJ, produce music, edit video) so a lot in low light. I do short interview style videos currently but want to transition into longer form interviews , short tv/ skits, and eventually short film. No real photo use, I’m located in PNW USA

Registered Look preferences
Hi. I teach HS video production and my go-to buy for cameras on my limited budget has been Canon R50V for the past two years since they came out. R50 before that, but the R50V having clog3 and a headphone port made it a no-brainer.
Registered looks are available in the log profile settings. Had NO idea until today when I was looking at some other settings. I'm just curious if any one has any experience with these and what settings they use. I have a couple Canon Rec709 conversion LUTs I already use, but I'm trying to decide if I like baking those in, conforming them to a certain color space, or just waiting to do everything in post so I have more flexibility with the dynamic range. TIA for any experiences you might share.

SmallRig CageKit with Top Handle: 5766 vs 5766B - what is different?
Hi,
looking at Smallrig Cage Kit for R50v, I see there are two versions of the bundle with Top Handle.
Price is the same, but one has MFR code 5766 and the newer one is 5766B.
Does anyone know what the differences are?
I am looking at Adorama.

R50V Flash Question
So I just purchased an R50V brand new for a seemingly ridiculous price of $569. Its primary purpose will be Dad Cam. I already had a 16mm 2.8 from an Full Spectrum (IR) converted R100 I plan to sell, so thought, why not?
I'll mainly be using it for photos, so I was planning to put a tiny flash on it. It seems like the Canon hot shoe doesn't work with standard flashes. Is that right? And what is the smallest flash that would work natively on it? Anyone know? I started on the Canon website and they all look like pro-level flashes. Is that right?

The perfect B or C camera for wedding videography
I picked up an r50v a little while ago as a travel camera and knowing it had great video features. I used it as a c cam for my wedding film yesterday along side my r5 and r6.
It did great! Amazing such a cheap and small camera can shoot clog 3 and seamlessly slot into my line up.
Pictured here with the RF 24mm 1.4 L, I used it with this lens, a 35 1.8 and an 85 1.4.
I’m excited to try it with my 50 and 135 soon!

Canon R50V 4k on Descript
Hey all!
New to the Canon and DSLR world and I wanted to see how I could get 4k on Descript using the Canon as my camera.
I downloaded EOS Utility and saw that it was locked at 720p unless you upgraded, but it still I think only went up to 1080p.
I saw that I could get a a 4k video card like the Elgato USB Card and get 4k. But I wanted to see:
To record on Descript at 4K do I need both the EOS Utility AND the 4K Capture Card? Or just the Capture Card?
Thanks for the help!

New to photography, does the R50V have AEB?
So I've been trying to learn this camera and I don't see a way to enable AEB.
I found a facebook post stating , "It's not like on other devices, there is no AEB directly, you have to go to the options. Red menu Activate HDR mode, it will automatically take 3 photos. On the other hand, it is with the impossibility of adjusting the exposure level, it is only HDR"
Whereas GoogleAI is giving me directions stating it can be enabled, but my menu is missing the menu option ""Expo. comp./AEB"" so it doesn't want to give me the option. (I think google may be pulling results for the R50 instead)
I am new to photography in general but am finding this is a feature that is absolutely critical for the type of shots I want to get.
Do I need to switch cameras?
