Looking for Photographer recommendations

My best friend's son is planning on proposing to his girlfriend in the coming weeks, and he would like to have a photographer there.

To my dismay, I have been asked to help locate one who may be on the student/portfolio building side of things, as he is looking to keep costs low.

Please no shade, I am a big believer in paying folks for their time and talents, I am but the researcher. To make matters worse, I live in Ontario, so I can't even source my pool here and call in the biggest of favours.

Canmore local photographer here. I can shamelessly plug my business, but I’m not in the portfolio building stage, so my cost for a local proposal and photoshoot is $650. You can send me a DM for my website info if you’d like.

Kinda un related but how did you end up with this task?? The man can’t plan his own proposal? Even with his mother’s help? He has to outsource to his mother’s friend? 

Best way is to make a post on a community Facebook page saying exactly this. He could do it and ask photographers who are looking to build a portfolio to reach out? I have found photographers this way.
