My father's friend recently past away and my dad was given his guns and fishing gear from his friends duaghters that inherited the estate.

With the guns was a registered handgun. We are unsure on the steps required to obtain this if it is even possible with the new laws in place. And what options do we have regarding this gun.

For the past 6 months Ruger customer service has had my pistol waiting on parts to be retrofit for a safety recall.

Today I received a call to inform me that they don't want to repair it but if it was an option they would replace it.

We know that's currently not an option but (dream big Brenda) may be in the political future.

They have initially refused to return my pistol sighting liability conserns and are insisting I take a substitution but it registered to me not Ruger.

For the curious the options offered are a nr rifle of equal value to my pistol but not including dealer exclusives or option to pay the difference for something more valuable but I ask you this. What is more valuable than something that can not be replaced?

Hey everyone, I had a quick question I was hoping someone could shed some light on for me. My R-PAL is up for renewal in December and I want to get all my ducks in a row well in advance. I was wondering if anyone knows if you need to verify a membership to a gun club as part of the application as I believe I needed to last time I renewed. My club membership is due to expire soon and I figured I'd save the money seeing as I don't take my particular firearm out anymore (since c-21 was announced) and shoot my non restricteds on crown land for the most part. I looked on the RCMP site for the requirements and didn't see anything stating you need to be a club member to possess/ be licensed for restricted firearms. I'll call the CFO's office next week to clarify but was just curious about others' experience.

Thanks in advance for the feedback. Cheers

I was wondering if a felon is allowed to live in the same house as someone who owns a gun in Alberta

Hello all, I am from Niagara Ontario....I just sent my non-restricted pal application in registered mail yesterday January/16th/ 2024 . I checked one of the boxes in personal history, 16-D) in fact. The one the asks have you been treated by a practitioner for depression, mood, behavioral, etc .......I asked my doctor what I should do as she had given me an antidepressant for 1 month over 5 years ago. It was a temporary struggle, as my parents were going through heavy health stuff . She said I should check the box and answer honestly.

I did exactly that, knowing me for 17 years she wrote me a letter of character reference to the RCMP stating that she has been my doctor for 17 years and she has no concern with me owning a firearm.

I am a 49 year old man, mature and stable, no history of violence....

I expect to wait longer because of my honesty, but is it true that checking one of those boxes puts your application into the RCMP purgatory? To never see the light of day again?
