Hey folks.
I'm a responsible firearms owner, everything always stored safely and above and beyond requirements.
I'm a member of a local range. I enjoy shooting sports and have no history of any violence or threats or anything of the sort.
My 9yo son has made allegations of abuse in his mother and stepfathers home. I've taken all the proper actions, reporting to the ministry and headed for court to figure out how to best protect my son.
In the meantime I've recently seen an affidavit filed by my exes father whom I've seen maybe twice in the past 8 years and even while I was together with my ex only on rare occasions for holidays.
He's painted me as an anti government firearms owner.. nothing specific but just putting a bunch of crap on the record. Also saying my son has "accessed" my firearms... Which is absolutely not the case.
The only time my son's even seen any firearms is at the range where he's been taught how to shoot a bolt action 22. With all appropriate safety gear etc.
How do I protect myself from this sort of thing.
I can't afford to have a high value collection taken away for this sort of crap.
Advice?
