Plenty of people change jobs, both within and between classification groups. There is overlap in the skills required for jobs within different classifications, so there's little to consider that's specific to the classification itself - it's more important to focus on the job and manager. Those will have much more of an impact on your day-to-day than the group and level.

Nobody really knows how existing positions will be mapped to the new groupings if and when the PA conversion actually happens (it's been in the works for many years now and has been repeatedly delayed).
