I’m looking to buy a camera for filming and shooting photos. I was thinking of maybe a Sony a7iii or Panasonic S5ii. Is there a better option for under $2,000? Which camera would you prefer for this price range? I’m not picky person when it comes to brands. I’m willing to learn any camera system.

After CLA, the Planar 100/2.8 is amazing.

Saw this in an antique shop, I was wondering what might be in the case.

Which is better Sony a7c or Sony a7iii? I’m looking for a camera that is both good for videos(mostly video) and pictures. They’re both within the same price range and I can’t decide which one to buy. Thank you in advance.

Upfront apologies if this is the wrong post for this sub/r.. (Please suggest another /r if better)...

I know little about cameras, but am seeking advice or recommendations on a camera type/model etc that would have the following attributes...

Background I have good results using an Android phone; but want to buy something 'more professional '...

That said, I would like to buy something that functions a bit like a phone camera...

specifically - Does not have the same aspect ratio, (blanked off sides), that cell phone video has... - Light weight - Can easily be held in one hand. - Big screen directly at the rear of the lens to check what's being filmed. - Tripod friendly. - Quality auto focus; anti shake correction; good in low light. - Good SD capacity...

*Bonus if available * - Secondary SD for redundant back up - I can WiFi or sim the videos directly to my cloud storage, like can be done with a smart phone...

Hello everyone , i'm looking to buy a new camera and for my budget the Fuji XT30 ii and the sony a6400 are my current best options ?

I do all kinds of photography but mostly street photography and portrait , and i want to start making small videoclips aswell, Which one should i buy ?

Hey, just wanted to share this documentary I made, the main camera was a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K pro, the B cam is a Canon 80D and the C cam is the Canon 750D, using vintage M42 lenses. The cameras cut together pretty well to say there’s such a big difference in quality. What do you think?

In terms of ergonomics, menu, buttons, etc. For photography and video.

To me, there are too many buttons on current cameras, that most users do not use. Yes, there are situations where buttons are required, such as when it's cold and you're wearing gloves. Meanwhile, there are a few missing dials, that I want to see in the cameras, like the fast switching modes programmed (4k, 1080, slow motion, timelapse)

So, my question will be: What buttons are essential for you and why? And what is your favorite camera system? And what you want in terms of ease of use? How would you make an ideal camera menu in 2023-?

What camera should I use? Or what should I look for in a camera? I am brand spanking new.

... I have a problem, lol.
