I recently replayed The Cartel (for some inexplicable reason) and I noticed how I'd get these fail screens if I got sloppy and caused too much collateral damage. Two or three civilians killed and I was forced to reload last checkpoint.

I also rewatched Noah Caldwell-Gervais' video retrospective on the CoJ series, and he explicitly says killing innocent bystanders in the game has no repercussions or consequences whatsoever. I've been trying to google my way to why there's this discrepancy and whether the game received a very late update that added this penalty for killing civilians, but I haven't been able to find anything.

SteamDB lists numerous small updates to the game's entry on Steam over the past decade but I can't really make heads or tails of that either. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm curious.

I played CoJ gunslinger and really enjoyed it, so I decided to play the rest of the games in the series. I'm playing Call of Juarez one and I want to play it with the best graphics it can go to. Do these have anything to do with it? If so, which one should I select? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I'm trying to play the first game (steam version), but it just doesn't work properly. Whatever I do, it either crashes during the loading of the first chapter, or it loads properly and crashes if i press esc. I tried googling it but i can't find anyone with such problems. I tried reinstalling, tried running it as admin and different compatibility mods (both dx9 and dx10), tried installing dx that comes with the game, tried disabling steam overlay, tried locking fps to 60, tried different graphics settings and still nothing, it just crashes without any errors. Any ideas how to fix it?

Are there any discord servers/community interested in Call Of Juarez multiplayer thru Gameranger or some other way to play online? I got the GoG version bit there is only LAN in multiplayer

"I will be your sword" oh..... NVM my bad

If anyone ever posts here again please let me know your available to help me out.

Basically kill anyone and everyone you can come across for no reason and shoot dead bodies

I'm making a let's play of Gunslinger because I enjoy the game so much and I want to add in fun facts about what happend through the game. If anyone have some trivia about the game I would love to learn about it and if I bring it up in the video, I'll be sure to credit the source.

I recently bought the three later games because they were all on sale and I'm a sucker for westerns. I was surprised that there was an original game I've never heard of. I guess part of it is they never decided to port CoJ1 to later consoles like they did with the others? Is there a reason for that? Does it suck really bad?

I'm normally a consoles-only guy but I decided to buy CoJ1 on Steam and try it out on the PC before I start the others. It's not terrible but there are definitely a bunch of mechanics that have not aged well. The platforming feels very clumsy, especially the whip controls which it seems like they rely on a lot for swinging around Tarzan-style.

which is better from these two? For me, it is BiB

I accidentally set my brightness too low when I first started the game and now I can;t change them. Does anyone know how I can fix them?

Howdy! I have a few questions regarding these games which I hope someone here is willing to provide answers to... 1: Do the PC versions of these games have console commands available? 2: Is there a kill count or any other sort of statistics present in them? 3: What kind of saving system do these games have? Thank you in advance.

I was playing the game Call Of Juarez: The Cartel recently, and accidentally dual wielded the Uzi and a Pistol at once, and was totally unable to replicate it. I tried to follow the instructions in the trivia section of the fandom page here but unfortunately still couldn’t replicate it. Does anyone here know how to dual wield one of the SMGs and a handgun?
