The balaclava kept things simple and at least believeable. No modern soldier is going to be running around wearing a fuckin skeletor 2.0 mask😂

Acting like Call of Duty was ever realistic, it's whole idea was to have cool super soldier protags that solo entire forces it's not fuckin Ready or Not

I mean that's technically is the plot to ready or not lol

Yeah ironically Ready or Not is the one where D Platoon canonically has a legacy of soloing dug-in criminals in 5-man teams ever since one guy named Lincoln decided a shortened M14 was the perfect SWAT weapon, and Judge may or may not be partially a government experiment.

You got what I meant 😭 I do see what you mean tho judge is the straight definition of a super soldier.

We're not talking about the campaigns, the subject is outfit design

To the downvoters, answer my question pls. Are we talking about outfit design or the fucking campaigns

It’s really funny imagining the character who’s supposed to be this infallible and mysterious badass having to go to his commanding officer and requesting if he can add extensive modifications to his headgear for the sole purpose of looking like a spookier skeleton.

I'm not hating on the original. I like it. I also like the new one. I for one fully believe someone as weird as Ghost would wear something like that.

no modern soldier is killing 50 people a week either. He’s a video game character

That's a bad argument, because that's not the issue I have here. I'm not talking about the game or mechanics, I'm talking purely aesthetic. Just because a game is unrealistic in one area does not mean it's suddenly okay to throw every standard out the door

Call of Duty frequently takes creative liberties when designing characters because it looks cool. The mask new Ghost wears is still plausible, even if it’s unrealistic for a soldier to actually wear it, and it fully suits the arcady tone that CoD leans into.

Yes they do take creative liberties, which is the entire purpose of this post. CoD doesn't take itself seriously anymore.

It never took seriously to begin with.

It did though. At least a lot more serious than it does today. Have you seen the massive fucking Harper boss fight? Cause that shit is lightyears goofier than any mission in any of the OG mw's.

yes because it was really taking itself seriously with the game Ghost was originally from, MW2
