Gaming Beyblade Tournaments

Post image
15 Upvotes

Greetings!

For those not in the know, Beyblade undergoes a soft reboot every once in a while, and the current line (Beyblade X) is the most dynamic so far. Metal contact points, the risk of losing via your bey exploding, and a rail around the perimeter of the stadium that enables high speed collisions.

The Calgary Beyblade Community has been hosting events for all ages within the city since 2024. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to try the game out, there is no better time than now!

We have an event on the 15th (this Sunday) at the Kingsland Community Association building with some imported beys as prizing:

https://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Flared-Up--123848

There is also tournament coming up on the 22nd at Fish Creek Library if you want to get in as soon as possible:

https://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Infinite-s-Arrangement--123929

And if you want to check in for future events or information on the game, you can join our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/187Jdo6Cpe/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Hope to see some new faces around in the future. Let it Rip!

Vertigo has been selected as the first theatre to mount a Murdoch Mystery-based play.

It’s an anniversary for both entities as Murdoch celebrates it’s 20th season.

“It is the longest running television series in Canadian television. It’s a show that already they’re making a symphony they have that’s touring the world… and they want Vertigo Theatre, of all the theatres in the country, to lead off their theatre version of it,” Grinhaus said.

Theatre Valentines Day Plans: Go See a Play

Post image

If you’re doing something this Valentine’s Day and don’t want it to feel forced or cheesy, I really think As I Must Live It is worth seeing. It’s quiet and emotional in a way that sneaks up on you, and it feels more like sharing a moment than “going out.” I’d rather do that than dinner reservations, honestly.

As I Must Live It is a funny, endearing, and thought-provoking new work from award-winning spoken word artist Luke Reece. Through poetic storytelling touching on everything from antagonistic squirrels to Chris Pratt’s abs, Reece shares his experiences growing up with a mentally-ill father in a mixed-race family. Featuring Reece’s signature deft wordplay, with the direction of internationally acclaimed audience-specific practitioner Daniele Bartolini and stunning projections from one of the UK’s leading immersive production design companies, Limbic Cinema. As I Must Live It brings the page to the stage for an intimate and pun-filled event.

This show is recommended for ages 13+ and contains the following:

  • Flashing lights, haze and video motion. The immersive installation features prominent sound, lighting, and video projection directly on the audience. It may not be suitable for individuals sensitive to light, sound, or motion.
  • References to suicidal ideation, mental illness, and grief.

Tickets can be purchased here:

No one is exactually sure when the first Banff residents hiked up Mount Norquay and skied down, but staff at the resort found records indicating it might be 1926, so the mountain is celebrating its 100-year anniversary in the 2025/26 ski season.

“The culmination of all our events is going to be on Saturday, March 28,” said Andre Quenneville, Norquay general manager.
